The Romance parish church St. Korbinian has given distinction to the townscape since it was built in the 13th century. Not only the yellow bricks but also its 30-yard high tower are highly visible. The inhabitants of Unterhaching are extremely proud of their church bells. Until the year 1972, they were still rung by hand.
Right at the border to the neighbouring municipality lies the Water Tower of Unterhaching. The tower radiates the same yellow colour as the church, was built in 1905 and fully refurbished in 1999. With its bright red tiled roof, it presents the perfect backdrop for a holiday photo — especially in the sunshine.
While on your city trip to Unterhaching, be sure to pay the Landschaftspark Hachingen a visit. The nature park impresses with a size of 126 hectares and was created on the former runway of the air base Neubiberg. The idea was to create new opportunities for leisure activities and recreation. Various sections ensure that every visitor will find something to his or her liking. Apart from the sports and adventure sections, special areas have been fully dedicated to nature and have been transformed into conservation areas for endangered animal species. Only about 30 minutes outside of Unterhaching lies Lake Starnberg. Take a short trip here to unwind and find many exciting activities on offer. The best place for a dip into the lake is the public beach pool in Starnberg. Ample parking, table tennis, sunbeds, and a pier from which you can jump right into the water, await.
