"It was nice with two floors. Nonetheless the toilet and the bath were on different floors, will be a good exercise to go up and down between toilet and bath/ bedroom. Overall very happy. The host was amazing."

Bathrooms were shared as it provided a traditional Japanese experience but as someone who would generally avoid a shared bathroom this was more part of the experience than a drawback. Rooms extremely clean, calming, and comfortable with own sink and toilet. "

"This is a wonderful place to spend a few days. The ryokan is very authentically Japanese. The staff was helpful wherever we needed them. The food Is good, though our best meals were in restaurants in Takayama. Most of all, the hot springs are AWESOME. The water is so thick with minerals, so rich. We didn’t want to leave."

"Very comfortable and spacious room with great views. Excellent breakfast buffet in a sunny big room. Shuttle bus service is prompt and good to have as hotel is on edge of town. Onsen was lovely, with great views and several different ones to try aswell as a relaxation area."

"Charming, very well run traditional Inn with great amenities and features. Great location with valley views and easy access to old town and a short walk to the Hida Village. Laundry facilities are great. Caretaker/owner is wonderful. Definitely eat the traditional meals offered (western and Japanese options), they will be a highlight of your trip!"

"Hotel got 2 onsen, both with outdoor onsen. The one on 1F was so relaxing in a green setting. Rooms n amenities provided have also exceeded expectation. Hotel provides shuttle service from JR station, but very limited timing. Nonetheless, will stay again when in Takayama"
