Great location! No parking on-site.
The PERFECT location in a beautiful city! Check-in was a easy process and room was clean. On the hotel.com website and app, it lists that there is parking at this hotel, but there is not so be prepared to pay for parking in a public lot. We were fortunate enough to get a room with a balcony which was nice. Rooms need some updating though. A fresh paint job would do this place wonders!

Plaza Marchi is a totally unique property inside the Old City on the border of Diocletian's place and the Venetian period buildings. It is connected to the ruins of the oldest church in Split. It is old and has enormous character. If you appreciate these things, you will love it. Each room is distinctive (and we had 4 rooms) Rooms are spacious, beds are super comfortable, and you really feel a part of ancient history. There are 3 gelato shops within 50 yards and 2 minutes to the promenade and 5 minutes to the heart of Diocletian's Palace. Countless amazing restaurants within moments of the front door. Once you get your bearings where the building and front door are, the rest is carefree. We had two cars, and the parking spots were not convenient. But, what do you expect in an old city that is 1800 years old.

Very nice property, the only issue is that although the property is advertised as having an elevator, it is only accessed through a flight and a half of stairs so for people with mobility issues, this is a problem.

The property was quiet clean and the staff friendly. Only problem is no food is served here so breakfast was a trek to another hotel. There is nothing to eat if you are vegan on the breakfast menu so I would advise booking room only and take your own coffee as the room coffee is not vegan it contains milk powder.

This is by far one of the most convenient locations right in the heart of Split, so it might not be the cheapest. But everything you need is right there. And, it is literally less than a 10-minute walk from the major bust stops and ferry station. Our room did not have a shower but that is an American complaint. There is not a restaurant on the property but they don't need one with so many around. Love the room! Would definitely return.

We liked: the hotel is situated very centrally in the middle near the palace area. The large room was quiet. We didn’t like: the floors weren’t clean enough for white socks. There was limited place for e.g. toilet appliances in the bathroom. No hangers for coats. Inconvenient sitting areas in the room and no common social areas available. Breakfast served at restaurant 5-10 minutes away offered limited selection, e.g. little or no fruit. Wine was sold in the reception, but there were no suitable glasses available. Proposal: the room was nice and had good potential, but much more can be done to improve convenience. E.g. arrange a freshly furnaced sitting area with a table in the room. Arrange hangers for outdoor clothes. Make better use of the large bathroom area, with e.g. shelves or similar for the guests’ personal appliances.

Nice place. Situated in the middle of everything. Make sure to arrange parking before arrival. The elevator is on the second floor so you have to walk up two flights of stairs before reaching it then another two flights before getting to our room. Were promised a bottle of sparkling wine which we had to request. Although bottles of Moet are pictured what they delivered was pretty lousy. No ice available in the hotel.

A beautiful historic hotel in Split old town
We had a great stay at Plaza Marchi. While the hotel entrance was a little confusing (at the end of an alley, once inside it looked great. Our room was quiet, large, and the bed was very comfortable. We would stay there again for our next trip to Split old town.

Great hotel, but Do not pay for breakfast.
I really liked this place. My room was spacious and it had tall ceilings. The staff was friendly and the location is perfect! It’s just around the corner from the port where you get the boats for daily trips. The only negative is the breakfast. Do not pay extra for breakfast. It’s not in the hotel and not even really close to the hotel. The breakfast consisted if a pile of microwaved eggs. Really? You do not get a choice and you sit in an old, unAttractive room. And worse yet, you pass lovely outdoor café serving really nice food for the same price you just paid. Other than that it’s a great hotel.

Parking was a disaster as we didn't know there wasn't parking in the old town. We ended up parking in a lot which costs €80/day. We ended up moving to a cheaper lot which was €38. By far the most expensive place we've been to in Europe so far!

We have had a lovely 5 day stay in Plaza Marchi. We decided to spent a bit more to stay in the grand luxury suite and it was delightful. The bed was very large and the room too. The location is excellent and everything is within a few minutes walk. My only slight niggle was the noise at night, due to being literally just above a bar. Bring ear plugs! The rooftop terrace is incredible and a great addition to the hotel. We were only able to check in at 2.30, rather than 2.00, but meant we could explore split before hand. The staff were very helpful at organising a taxi to the airport for us. All in all, we were pleased with the hotel and our stay, although it was quite expensive!

The hotel was OK, however upon check in, we were asked to pay for our room reservation in cash, even though we had paid in advance through Expedia. Where we tried to tell them that the room had been paid, they told us that this payment was only a hold and tried very heavily to pressure us into paying in cash, only giving in Once I had showed them the Expedia confirmation and my credit card statement. This happened to two sets of other friends later, one of whom paid in cash and ended up having her card charged. This is clearly a scam for unwitting people and t reliant on the fact that credit card companies will cover the cost of the disputed transaction. AVOID!!!

I room I requested should have been a nice room except it was unbearably hot and the A/C was not working. After notifying the staff multiple times, they didn't do anything or move me. Instead, I was told they were fully booked with a large group and nothing they can do. I asked for a refund early in the day so I can book at another hotel and they assured me the air would be fixed by end of day and it was not. I slept terribly in front of an AC unit that was blowing hot air. I wouldn't stay here for these reasons. The location was nice though.
