The Hotel Post does what you expect it to do: provide a roof over your head. My room was very spacious and gave on the backyard so it was pretty quiet. However, in order to reach it you have to climb two flights of stairs and cross the restaurant room, which in the morning was awkward. Overall, the hotel has a business-retro look, which I don't think is intended. The staff was rather friendly and though the surroundings are not particularly nice you are only minutes away from the old town and good eating spots.

Hotel just 5 min walk to bus and rail stations. Very well appointed room with separate lounge/work area. TVs in both lounge and bedroom. Restaurant for evening meal had good menu and great service. Breakfast also good. Deserves higher 4* rating

The hotel is conveniently located, close to the train station and downtown. However, the first impression can be negative, since the facilities are rather basic and need a revamp. The service is nice and pleasant.

Great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, there's an uncomfortable gap between the two matresses, so it's not really a double bed.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a restaurant, the rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. The views from the rooms are amazing. No elevator.

Unusual building lay out was difficult for hauling heavy bags but help was offered. Check in is next to their smoking lounge which is unpleasant for non smokers. Room had everything we needed and breakfast was wonderful!

Overnight in Sargans
Sargans was our overnight stop on a long journey. Hotel was convenient for the station and they made us very welcome. 1L complimentary water in the room, free drink at the bar. Decent restaurant too, and a good breakfast. Very pleased with our choice.

The staff are superb! Very welcoming and approachable people! I should like to thank you ladies who worked in the restaurant in the evenings for their professionalism and help. My room was spacious and well equipped and the breakfast was very good too. The hotel is also handy for buses to local towns and villages.

Sargans good starting point to explore!
Short walk from the train station. Bus stop to Liechtenstein less than 50 feet from hotel. Nice restaurant. Breakfast was good! We will be back!

Decent hotel, not with a lot of character
We booked fairly late, just staying one night. The hotel is bigger than it looks in the photos and and a coach party stopped over the night we were there. it looks as if it's set up for business meetings

Very comfortable and friendly hotel
We originally stayed here just because we were going to Lichtenstein, but we wound up really liking sargans and the hotel post more! So glad we chose to stay at the post. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and the scenery cannot be beat. This hotel was a wonderful surprise!

We had a premium room, 414. Which was nice. The beds are uncomfortable and need to be replaced. The location was excellent for our needs and there was a good breakfast.

Easy access to Train station.
Staff was very helpful even tho our German language skill are so limited. Mr. Rico was really helpful and even gave us a lift to the Pizol ski gondola. Very friendly accommodating staff.

NIce traditional Swiss family run hotel
Excellent location in center of small town, five minutes walk from train station. Excellent helpful staff - I was personally shown to my room - with several languages. Very good breakfast. Comfortable room with exceptional cleanliness in the room and bathroom. For expensive Switzerland, excellent value.

Overnight stay in Sargans
Basic Hotel. OK for 1 night....Strange that you have to walk outside the hotel to get to the rooms. Staff on check-in made us feel we were interrupting them! The front staff on check out was rather more friendly and what you'd expect from people working in hospitality. Good breakfast spread for a Swiss hotel.

The hotel is in a good location for transport links. The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms, while fairly old, were well kept and clean. The free breakfast had a good selection. Would stay here again if in the region.

a good choice in sargans
Convenient location near train station, bus station and supermarket, and with a good restaurant. Guests with a welcome drink and with gifts when they checkout. Room is spacious and goid view but with air con or fan.

Good location, basic hotel
Good location, and a basic hotel. Also I had an early train so I asked the night before about paying early. The reception said he'd be there in the morning, but then when I showed up at 6AM to checkout he wasn't there. I almost missed my train.

A lovely, albeit expensive, hotel
Sargans is a lovely place to spend a weekend. Surgeons station is very well serviced and the Balzers heliport (in Lichtenstein) is only a ten minute drive by car/taxi. There are a number of hotels, restaurants, and a few shops within a five minute walk of the hotel and the town itself is picturesque. The hotel restaurant is very nice and the service is great; though perhaps a little pricey. The same can be said of the hotel breakfast buffet. The food was lovely although the options were a little limited considering the price of the room. Overall a very nice hotel in an idyllic setting, but the restaurant is a little expensive.

Good, clean hotel. Friendly staff.
Good, clean hotel in Sargans not too far away from the railway station which allows for easy accessibility. Hotel seems to be frequented by group tour operators which means it can get quite busy at times. Would consider it again for a short visit to the area.

Decent place for a quiet get away
We visited Sargans for a break on a very fast tour of Europe. Figured it would be nice to enjoy some peace and quiet for some down time rather than visit another busy city like Zurich. The stay was overall pleasant. The room is very basic. Nothing very fancy about it. Serves its purpose and is clean. The staff is friendly and helpful when needed. The restaurant seemed a bit pricey. This was, however, our first visit to Switzerland. Seems prices in general are steeper there. So we had two small plates for dinner that cost us around 40 euros. The area is very quiet. So if you need a nice quiet getaway to a mountain town in Switzerland, this could certainly be an option for you. Seems to be close to some ski resorts as well.

Good food - clean and comfortable
Room was clean and beds were comfortable and cozy. A little bit off the motorway but location had a food store across the street. Staff was very friendly but limited English speakers - German was language of choice. Great for a stopover! Great view.

If you have to stay in Sargans, thrn it is adequate. But if you do not need to stay in thae town, stay elsewhere.

Great stay. The people were super.
The view of the town, hotel, and castle were terrific. The staff could not have been more helpful. They even gave a coupons for a free drink in the restaurant.
