The front desk and kitchen staff are super friendly and helpful. I travel a lot and work remotely and the number one thing that matters to me is decent WiFi - and they didn’t have WiFi working properly in my room at all. They offered where I could have a better signal in their lounge are, but I paid to be in the privacy of my room and I work late at night. And the signal was not any better at the lounge either. I ended up leaving a night before my checkout and made reservations elsewhere just so I could work while enjoying my trip. No refund for not having WiFi working in my room was granted after my request o I realized it was my lost and left peacefully without getting into a debate with anybody. There are not nearby places to walk around to because the hotel is so far up a hill that you would need an Uber to go to the Main Street. The bed working staff there are super but don’t expect to have WiFi if you decide to stay at this hotel.

Não entendo como esse hotel pode ser classificado como 5 estrelas. A fachada é decadente. Fiquei assustada ao chegar no local. Não só pela fachada inacreditavelmente mal cuidada, como também pela TERRÍVEL localização. O hotel fica praticamente em uma favela, ruas hiper sujas, com muitos moradores de rua, praia com esgoto a céu aberto. A equipe é atenciosa e educada, mas as fotos disponíveis no site e no hotels.com certamente passaram por tratamentos para parecem tão bonitas. Jamais recomendaria

Very lovely facility, feels like 1950s style Cuban architecture, with a great breakfast included in the stay, and a very friendly accommodating staff. Highly recommend, also just a walk to the beach and town square. Loved it!

It was a terrible experience! We paid two nights and left before the 24 hrs. Lost my $$ The photos are deceiving, the place is old, patched up, run down and I cannot believe how this hotel can possibly have a good rating. The hotel is in the middle of a very bad neighborhood and the experience was the worse I have had! If there was less than 1 star…. That’s what I would give

This is a charming little boutique hotel in the cool part of Salvador. I had no idea when I booked it but it is walking distance to a lot of trendy bars and dining places (Loved our visit to Hidden & Jabu). There is a great rooftop pool and I believe all the windows face the ocean so everyone gets a great view! Breakfast is included and it’s a nice atmosphere and vibe to hang out at the hotel. The hotel team was so kind and friendly, they made the place inviting and pleasant to be at the hotel. The spa/massage was also lovely. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved the fact that this hotel was small and the rooms are unique. Negatives: The place is a bit run down. Broken glass needs to be replaced around the pool, metal around the pool needs a good polishing, dead dragonflies need to be cleaned out of sconces, and in our room, the bedspread’s threads were all coming loose, and a table was warped with water damage. Positives: All staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was yummy, the location is great, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We would certainly stay here again, but maybe after Covid is over, when they have more $ for updates.

The rooms are comfortable and mine specifically had a great view. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi are also great and you can see a beautiful sunset right at your own hotel. The staff is also excellent and very courteous. The only thing I needed to complete my stay was a gym for a morning stretch or workout. Besides that had a great stay!

O hotel é um charme e tem poucos quartos com linda vista. A Antônia nós fazia sentir em casa, assim como os demais funcionários. Acredito que o hotel pode dar um toque ainda mais aconchegante na decoração dos quartos, o que faria toda a diferença. Uma obra proxima ao meu quarto trouxe ruído desconfortável durante o dia, mas espero que seja uma pequena obra de manutenção para deixar o lugar ainda mais agradável. A praia é logo em frente, a piscina é uma graça e o bairro tem várias opções gastronômicas.

I would definitely recommend
I would definitely recommend, a pleasant place to stay. The location is quiet and is walking distance from great beaches and restaurants.There is a tasty breakfast with many options and the staff are helpful and friendly, always happy to help. There is a rooftop pool which is great to watch sunsets. Overall it’s a nice hotel and is good for anyone who want a break.

This is my favourite hotel in Salvador. More comfortable than the Fasano and the Fera Palace. It is relaxed and In a good location. The pool on the roof is a real selling point, and it offers a great view. I would like it if they kept the bar open until 11pm at least; 10pm seems a bit early. The people who work here are friendly and welcoming. Unlike for instance the Fasano, the personnel at the Zank seem happy to be here. The Breakfast is excellent. I hope management undertakes the minor repairs that are needed now before they become big problems (e.g. Window Shutters in the original and most interesting part of the hotel) The room prices are creeping up, but still far from the lunacy of the Fasano and more reasonable than the Fera Palace, which has comparable services. My partner and I have stayed here a lot and never met or seen the manager of the property, This is not a problem but seems odd for a small hotel like this.

Quaint property but had no water inside the room, I asked for champagne and romantic service and it was not delivered. Shower cold water was nonfunctional so all that was available was burning hot water. Would stay here again despite these issues. No elevators.

Absolutely beautiful
The hotel was absolutely beautiful and very clean. It’s conveniently located — only about 5-10 minutes walking to the main plaza in Rio Vermelho where there are great bars and restaurants and just a couple minutes to the beach. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful — the best service and sweetest people I met on my trip. Highly recommend!

Amazing 5 day and 4 Night Stay at Zank. The service is impeccable and the restaurant is an gem. The food was surprisingly authentic Brazilian food, and top quality. The Hotel has this boutique home atmosphere, and the view from the pool deck is mesmerizing. The only con is that WiFi signal is kind of weak. Overall though amazing stay, will recommended to anyone and I will definitely stay at Zank on my next trip to Bahia.

Beautiful boutique hotel. It’s a 1906 building. It’s located a short walk from the beach. Awesome service. Our bedroom was spectacular, one of the most comfortable beds I ever slept on. I highly recommend this property.

The property is really well planned with a small intimate atmosphere. It is serenely quiet, and the staff is very personal and relaxed. Tranquility at Zank Hotel
The Zank hotel is the bomb! The room was nice w/an excellent view facing Placiencia Beach and everything is super clean! The staff really made it one of my best trips. Everyone was so hospitable and accommodating that I have already decided that I will be returning sometime this year and I will be staying w/them again and I want the same room number. LOL! The hotel is in the Rio Vermelho neighborhood which is very nice. It didn't take long though if I wanted to visit Barra beach or the historical square or Pelourinho area. (approx 20 min to Pelourinho) The room has a safe in it to lock up any valuables and there was a nice hot fresh grilled breakfast every morning! If you encounter Tatiana, Renan, Guillerhme, Adriano, Domingos, Eddie or Alfredo....you're in excellent hands!

Zank is swank!! Beautiful property! Located in walking distance to restaurants and nightlife. Staff went out of their way to explain a map of Salvador and gave us recommendations in English. Pool area fantastic. Great views.
