Not worth the exuberant price of $75 a night, but I guess that's just Iceland. Solo female traveler and felt safe in 16 person co-ed dorm. Private bathrooms were a big perk, and very clean. Room could have been ventilated better (a bit of a smell), but overall very clean. Location is a bit inconvenient if you're trying to explore town (~20 minute walk into downtown), but very convenient for airport bus transfers or tour transfers.

This hostel is bare bones and unfriendly. Uncomfortable rooms, no sheets, thin mattress, no towels. It really doesn’t get any cheaper - like sleeping in a prison cell.

Front desk was not very helpful. We have visited Iceland a few times over the years. When asked for directions for bus service. They provided information but that was it. They were more occupied with their conversations with one another than helping guests. We will not come back to this Hostel sadly. There are other hotels that were very friendly and helpful by far than what I experienced at this Bus hostel. Also when we checked into our room the sheets were not cleaned or the bedding comforter. There were hairs and dirt underneath the sheets!! I asked the fellow cleaning to provide clean linens. I’m sorry for the bad review but it is honest.

I was very annoyed as i booked a female only dorm room, then when i was there suddenly men were staying in the dorm with me.. as a sexial violence victim this was very unsettling.. i was given no notice about the fact they stopped having female only dorm rooms.. if i have been given notice i would have changed my travel plans..

After flying all night, I arrived early at the property. They refused to check me in. I offered to pay for the extra night. They also refused. The Indian guy at the front desk said that they didn't have any beds ready and that I'd have to wait until 2 PM. Later I found out that the room I was in, had three open and clean beds from the day before. I complained to the manager, but not sure if he did anything about his front repectionists and their lies...I won't be staying there in the future, that's for damn sure.

Disorganized Space and Operations
Some travelers stay here longer term and have their things in the kitchens and rooms. The hostel doesn't ensure the kitchens and rooms remain organized, nor ensure that beds are marked for new travelers. There was a conflict in my room because staff gave someone new a person's bed who had been there.

Other guests made our staff horrible though the staff were lovely. The beds were comfy but the bathrooms were a joke; I don’t know how often they were cleaned but I had other people’s head hair stuck to my feet every time I went in there.

Room was nice and clean, location was great, just a fifteen minute walk and you are downtown. Kitchen was one of the worst I’ve seen in a hostel. 3 forks, 5 spoons and very limited plates/bowls. I know the hostel can not control how people leave the kitchen how we maybe If everything wasn’t broken or missing more people would appreciate it?!

Dryer was broken. Units were noisy until early morning hours. Place is literally a bus station with 5-6 parking spots of it's own (You'll be directed to open parking several blocks away). Rude staff with a capital R. One fat-faced angry man in his mid-thirties was particularly unpleasant and may very well be descended from trolls.

Excellent service and clean but noisy due to poor hotel design. People were arriving super late and leaving super early and it was too hard for them to be quiet - even with earplugs.

There were 2 out of 6 bathrooms where nothing was broken. One had no door, one had no handle or lock for the door, and two had broken shower heads. Reviews from weeks ago mention the doors and nothing has been fixed. Management doesn’t seem to care much. Also, the pictures provided are out of date. The lobby has been remodeled and they removed the bar, essentially removing the major social aspect of the place. It’s in a weird location for walking, but you can make it downtown in about 20 minutes.

Pros 24 hr front desk Shoes off upon enterance Cons Bathrooms not working 30 people to two bathrooms, one was broken for a whole week, during morning rush hour to the tour buses and leaving, you would have to get up at 5 in the morning to go to the bathroom Bathroom without hand soap or toilet paper or hand dryer or paper towels Bathroom with open key lock Bunk beds uncomfortable Top bunk bed - inconvenient climbing the wooden pieces to get on top- you bang your knees and upset the bottom dweller.

Great hostel would reccomend
Lovely hostel, perfect location right at bus stations and near city centre. Wish that the kitchen was a little bigger as was a quite cramped at times and had to wait periods to cook dinner but aside from that everything was great.
