They didn't have any of the amenities that were listed. No coffee and tea pot in the rooms swimming pool was closed. On site coffee shop was closed. And no breakfast at a bed and breakfast Didn't clean up the room or replace the towels.

Covid 19 lockdown.
We enjoyed our stay at the Ala Amid very much even though we were in lockdown due to Covid. The staff went above and beyond to keep us comfortable. We consider this B @ B staff and owners family. We made some suggestions of changes to the owners and they implemented them. Something as simple as a hook in our room for our room key and face masks as we kept forgetting our face masks. The locals in our area where very welcoming as well. We will miss you all. Plan to come back in a few years to see you all. Thanks again.

Nice place for the money
Great place for the price, large room, clean, confortable bed, nice pool, staff is great. The hotel is a little far, but we had a motorbike so we were able to go around easely

Terrible hotel ever! We won't recommend it to others Specially family and friends!! Ac is dirty a lot of dust! Heater is grounded!! And don't book their family room coz it's looks like you paid per person not the room itself!! We are 10 pax then asking for a payment for additional two person! The room showed have 3 queens size bed 2 double bed and 3 single bed, which is true so we don't understand why we need to pay extra P700 per night per person if we have a lot of bed actually the capacity of the is 15pax and we are only 10pax! My knowledge in the hotel is if you exceed the capacity and ask for extra bed YES you should be paid extra! RIGHT?? Then we have a lot of issues in the room "LEAK ON THE CEILING" luckily we are on our room when the water from the ceiling fall down we saw it early but our shoes got wet already then we remove all of our things then we ran to the front desk then told them, yeah we RUN coz there's no telephone in the room! At that moment the owner is their saw the water and check the bathroom too we told her everything about our problems we have but then she didn't do NOTHING AT ALL!!! Yeah we understand they have policies but what about their policy if the guests experience those problems?!! We didn't hear any sorry from them! One more thing if you book thrue 3rd party and you have a problem on your reservation front desk won't help you at all and if you ask for the contact number of those 3rd party reservation they will tell you they don't have!

Although we will not request for the removal of this review, as the guest clearly took the time to write it and we appreciate that (despite the profanities addressed to our front desk), we would like to point out that all of the other concerns mentioned are rooted on the extra person charge and are potentially framed based on that bias. To summarize, the published rate of the room is good for 8 guests and an extra person charge is requested for guests in excess of 8. This information is written on our website, on Expedia, and all other online sources. An email and Facebook Messenger message was also exchanged, to clarify this matter, prior to the group’s arrival. Our tour operator’s experience with the group was eerily similar (i.e., booked 8pax for a group of 10). This is common practice in the hospitality industry. A room may be fitted with a queen size bed and a single bed, for example (for a max capacity of 3), but the published rate might be good for 2 to accommodate most group sizes (i.e., most groups are of 2, which make the room cheaper than if priced for 3 regardless of number). Hoping this is communicated to your group as you might find it helpful when traveling again.

Staff were all friendly and courteous. The shuttle ride provided were punctual, and safe driver. Unfortunately the bathrooms in 207A was in poor condition, and should be repaired before allowing it to be used by other guests. The sink faucet was loose. There was flooding or leak from flushing the toilet. Both bathroom shower curtains were in poor condition, no hot water consistently flowing, & very tight space to shower. The issue was brought to the attention of the front office. But was not resolved.

Outdoorsy in the Heart of the City
Our room was very near the front desk so it was convenient for me. Their WiFi was ok and my kids loved the bunk over the cabinet. The stairs were a bit much for someone with my knee condition. They could do well to make use of the access gate from the side which would be pretty much level than the stairs approach. Breakfast was good too! Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

We had a lovely time and do recommend this BnB. However we recommend the room for only four people. Squeezing even three children into the room was tight. Otherwise, the staff was so kind, facilities including the pool were very well cared for and clean.

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The property is in decent shape but the drawbacks were the rooms could have been cleaner. Some cobwebs on the walls and the towels and linens seemed like they weren’t washed very well, had a moldy smell on the towels. Some of the linens had stains. Left some food out 1 night and was covered with ants in the morning. I guess this sort off comes with the region. The restaurant and homemade pastry were good. The breakfast Buffett was good. The pool area was nice and clean. Overall it was a nice stay. Just not 4 sfar. The other issue is the shower floor was very slippery and no warning or mats in the shower. My wife almost fell the first time in the shower but was able to grab the shower curtain and stop her from falling. For the region and the price it is a decent place to stay

Property is fine but tbey have nothing to offer. Tbey advertise pizzas and salads but when you order they tell you out of greens and out of cheese to make a pizza. For 5 days the only answer i got was sorry sir we have nothing to offer.

I have very bad experience with the admin staff very poor communication..not approacheable..and the manager and and owner is not available for my complaint..which is very unsual they cannot give the phone no and the worst is I pay an extra money because they change the policy which i booked before the new policy started what an idiot idea. They doesnt want me to give the receipt. I complaint already to my on line booking hotel..I will not recommend this hotel this is the worst hotel i ever boooked..

Avoid this place!!!
If you love Jesus and bare to listen to new Christian Jesus music in your hotel in reception, pool and breakfast area 24/7, then your prayers are heard. If you (as myself) believe that hotel and church is separate-then book another hotel!!!! Also they made me wait 1,5h for a room after a 30h+ flight, because their hotel policy says check in at 14:00, now, what would Jesus have said about that behaviour? Book another place is my advice!

Exceeded the value for the money you are paying.
I like the room that we're staying. We have a lovely view at the back portion and pool view. Every morning feels like you're in another place. The swimming pool is very clean. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The location is great just near the Robinsons Palawan. Near the airport.The area also is ideal if you're going north to port barton or el nido. The bathroom needs improvement. We dont like the faucet on the sink. And the shower dial needs fixing. THe handle of shower dial is loose.

A Family Favourite
Ala Amid is an understated lovely bed and breakfast. The rooms are really clean, and functuonal but could use some updating. The pool is a nice addition and the breakfast is wonderful. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. This was one of our favourite places to stay and would recommend it!

DISGUSTING, FILTHY HOTEL
This was a trashy disgusting hotel, which you would expect in a place like this. 1. They advertise Wi-FI. The Wi-Fi does not work in the rooms. I had to spend all night in the lobby. 2. The water coming out of sink and shower was brown 3. There were ants all over the room. Minutes after I put my food down it was flooded with ants 4. The walls were moldy and smelled disgusting Photos attached.

Would have given a better rating but because I was told it was ok to leave for the airport over an hour before my flight and I accepted the time and then they were 25 minutes late to take me there I got a lot of unnecessary stress from it. They should be punctual. It is a hotel. The front desk agents were very pleasant though.

Our stay was quite comfortable here. While on vacation my other half feel ill, the staff was very accommodating and helpful in preparing food I purchased for him in efforts to get him feeling better. Although there was a small charge , I appreciated the effort they took. The only thing i would say negitive , is the way they kept room service tickets. Someone charged deserts to my room and upon check out they were insistent I pay for it when the signature did not match mine or my other half . I was a little annoyed by this , and the fact that it took them 20 minutes to decide not to charge me for it.

The correspondences via email prior arrival to assist with tour bookings were prompt. Staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. They assist with hailing tricycles and cabs. Was there during the recent monsoon season so the environment and fabrics were damp, but that's beyond their control. Speed of food service could improve a tad bit, however. Overall, I would still highly recommend this place to anyone. It would be my to-go place if I visit Palawan again.
