The staff is friendly, clean sheets, towels, but the room is really dated, ripped curtains, hot water disappeared the second and third day :( Can’t open windows because of nasty smell from a nearby dumpster

This hotel was a fun stay - the “penthouse suite” isn’t actually the full top floor - there are 3 rooms that all share the same balcony. This hotel was definitely built in the 70’s or 80’s and hasn’t had much renovation since. However, the bed was super comfy, view was beautiful, and we can’t complain overall.

Horrible place!
Restroom dirty. Room dirty. Very small room and building. Staff was rude. Breakfast starts at 9am. No accommodations for early breakfast if you have a 7am tour even though you pay for breakfast! Just over all bad experience. Do not recommend to anyone.

Had problem with air conditioner. Slept through the night listening to ocean breeze. Mention the problem to owner next day. He Immediately upgraded my room. So I didn't have to wait for it to get fixed. I also realized that this hotel has some rooms that are much better than others. ( view balcony etc). If you are spoiled with 5 star expensive hotels don't bother coming here. A little maintenance and face lift this can be a great hotel.

The Hotel is very small and old
We were shocked once we reached the Hotel. Reception,rooms,pool & restaurant are very small. Also we had a problem with bad odour all over the place due to poor ventilation.Another problem was illumination , you can hardly see what you can write in the reception & even in bedrooms.Also i dont recommend this hotel for handicapped or old aged people since they can easily fall from the stairs since light isnt always on and there is no elevator. Regarding transportation , it was mentioned on the hotel website that its available but when we requested shuttle from airport by email the hotel replied that they dont have this facility and when we were leaving we asked them they said they have it but will charge us 3 times more than any agency.Be aware of insects inside the bedrooms , also there is no hot water from the tap. Last my agency tried to call the hotel one time , the receptionist didnt inform me unless i asked and he said you didnt reply. There are variety of hotels which have much better services which made us regret. .

The place was close to town and very noisy.
The people that worked orchid hotel and spa are very helpful and friendly to us. The person are prepared our meals are friendly and courtesy asked how the foods was.

Far from everything, no beach, close to sewer. Furniture was destroyed and very old, bathroom rusty and moldy. After all we came through, this was like bad dream.

Orchid Hotel and Spa presents great value for money. Anthony and his team are helpful without being in your face. We eat twice in the restaurant and found it to be enjoyable. Only advise I would give is to bring your own hair dryer and kettle (no makings in the room) We would certainly stay here again if ever back in that part of Thailand Hotel is about 15 minute walk from the town and there is a shop nearby for extras you may need. Tour desk very helpful

Orchid Spa Hotel 2013
Very comfortable hotel with polite staff . Outdoor seating and dining area is nice for dinner on fine evening and the sea breeze is refreshing as you relax outside. Away from the main Patong strip but still a short taxi trip or 15 - 20 minute walk, this Hotel is perfect for a relaxed no fuss stay. The lobby music plays many classic tunes from history and adds nicely to the relaxed atmosphere.

Is a wonderfully trip as this is the 1st time staying on the place where it is away from the town Area. Expected is it hard to travel around as the trandport is not easy to take BUT no is like the monment u out the hotel u can easy find tuk tuk to bring u the place u wan and easy to find food, mid night snack and shopping place

Out of the way and bad service.
I would not recommend anyone stay here, when there are so many other options in the area. The location is terrible, in a dirty area way North of Patong. Woman working the front desk in the morning, as well as the travel person there, said to me at 9am that there were no more ferries to ko phi phi that day. I knew there were many more, so I ignored her. Then she called my room to say she found my wife and I room on a ferry at 11am, but that it would cost me.

more than a vacation
Hospitality is a word that is often used but seldom done. This hotel offers much more than a room, they help you in your vacation plans and really care about the quality of your stay. I was pleasantly surprised and the location of the hotel is a plus. Not downtown but you can get there quickly and have. A great view of the bay. It was my most enjoyable vacation to date. I would go back and return to this hotel if possible again. The staff and owner made a huge positive impression on me. It was a positive life changing experience which is beyond a vacation.

AC is too noisy. Asked the reception to fix it up for few days, but it was still the same. Couldn't sleep well in the night. Location is ok.

We paid HK $ 655.00 per night about US $ 85.00 and let me tell you its not even close to the value of ur money. We booked a king bed and they gave us two uneven twin bed put together, imagine that. Don't be fooled by seaview, their seaview is blocked by massive electrical cables infront of it so not worth at all. bathroom was filty, molds all over. shower door did not close. Airconditioner in the room did not work properly. Our stay included breakfast but it was only two choices and looked terrible.Management needs to step up and fix these problems. checkout some pictures previous guests have posted. its just bad. Do not stay here, book somewhere else even if you have to pay little extra.

Great location - right across the beach. Also away from the busyness of the downtown area. Breakfast was included in our package and was lovely every morning. There are some great food vendors along the waterfront. Easy walking distance or tuk-tuk ride to downtown area

This hotel is excellent value for money, with friendly, helpful and knowlegable staff. It is conveniently located to Patong, but far enough away for that all important peace and quiet. It is a very charming older hotel, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the quality of the facilities.

About a 25 minute walk, or 200 baht (£4) tuk tuk ride to Bangla road and it's mad nightlife. Relatively quiet location with a few nice restaurants and bars nearby. Yummy street food just over the road. Small but lovely clean pool, though traffic noise is sometimes a little obtrusive. Excellent aircon, though I say turn it off and sleep to the sound of the ocean! Friendly staff, nice Thai and western food on site, though restaurant is in hotel lobby with some tables outside in garden alongside a minor un-busy road. 30 feet from beach - I think the road you need to cross was about 30feet anyway! ;) Good value, bit-above-typical Thai mid range hotel. No tea/coffee in room, but cheap minibar with beer, water and soft drinks. Shower warm, working and ok, but wouldn't win any medals.

Had an ocean view deluxe room. A lot of the furniture was dusty for some reason. Had an ok view of the ocean from the 3rd floor but its too bad there were a ton of power lines in front of the hotel to block the awesome view. Hotel didn't have any towels in it, i had to ask for a few. No bugs to be seen. Bed was comfy. Very limited TV channels.

The Hotel was fine. We were able to hire a scooter from the hotel. It rained the whole time we stayed there and there was no power on our last day in Patong. Sufficient to say that in no way that this have affected my opinion or stay in this hotel as no one could have anticipated the unpredictable weather in Phuket, though the staff could have been friendlier (I don't think one of the staff member know how to smile)

An extended weekend stay...
I stayed here recently for an extended weekend. Anthony, the owner, is usually around and there to make sure everything does run smoothly. I booked late and couldn't get an ocean view room, although he got me a room where I could see the ocean off the side view from my balcony. I could tell from the view outside that those guests who stayed above the third floor on the ocean side had an unobstructed vies of the ocean. My room was over the lobby and my balcony was above the cafe; although I never heard any noise from either of them. My room was decently equipped and featured a canopy bed. I was given very slightly torn sheets one day. Although I suspect this was because my room was cleaned well after all others; due to me being sick. There were some cobwebs up along the top corners of the walls and the shower was a bit dingy. However, the A/C & everything else worked and the roomwas quite pleasant to be in. I had a friend staying in the room next door. While their room was smaller, it was just as pleasant and everything worked fine. The hotel itself is older but comfortable and has plenty of character. The food from the cafe is good and a value. The pool and spa area are small but nice. I will say that if you're not a swimmer than the pool is not for you. There is no shallow area and it is 1.9M/6.2' deep. The hotel is far enough away from the hustle and bustle. A 20-30 minute brisk walk or 200Baht tuk tuk ride is required to get to Bangla Road.

We have holidayed in the phuket several times and most recently from the 12 th December until the 28thdecember 2011 we holidayed in three separate areas staying at 3 different hotels-the last of which was the Orchid.We found the staff at this hotel unusually unhelpful. Breakfasts were the worst of any hotel that we had stayed at.I hired a hotel motorbike that subsequently broke down and even though I had filled it with petrol and requested a different motorcyle I was basically told it was too bad and I would need to refill the next motorbike as well.We made a simple request to be allowed to check out a little later than the mid day check out only to be informed that we would be charged extra.The pool chairs and pooll area are in a state of disrepair.We were charged for water bottles.The airconditioner was so noisy that we had difficulty sleeping. Given location, state of the hotel and poor service we ound this hotel extremely expensive.

My Fiance and I really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are four options for breakfast each morning- eggs on toast, fruit etc. We booked our tours through the hotel which seemed very reasonable. We caught a shuttle from the airport for 150 baht each and they dropped us right to the hotel without a hitch, although they will try to sell you tours on your way for double the price so just say no and book through the hotel. Location was great- away from the busy centre but only a 15 min walk or a 200 baht tuk tuk to town. All in all a great stay in Phuket!

Understand before you book that this hotel has five floors and NO elevator. That being said, I loved my penthouse and got accustomed to the stairs quickly. The adjacent hotel is three times the price and the view and location is the same! It is a considerable walking distance north of Patong....but that is exactly why I chose it. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Good choice for breakfast and other meals. WONDERFUL to have the in-house taxi. Yes, expensive but convenient and safe and you didn't feel "at the mercy" of a taxi on the street. One penthouse has a Western bed and one a Thai bed. I was upgraded at no charge to the larger one and used the sofa cushions to make the bed softer. All in all, a super place and I will go back and recommend.....to people who don't mind stairs.

Not having been to Patong before didnt really know what to expect. We are a couple, late 20's and wanting to stay away from the general noise and bars..... this was perfect for us. Far enough away to have quiet times, but close enough to enjoy everything Patong offers. We rented a bike from the hotel and checked out the whole region. Headed into town on the evenings we needed and got back without a problem. The hotel itself has very friendly and helpful staff. Organised things for us when we needed help. The restaurant food is nice with a mix of thai and european dishes - nothing over the top, just nice honest food at reasonable prices. All hotels have their quirks, this is no different, but for a standard hotel with a small friendly feel and on a budget, you cant go wrong.

The location is just perfect for me. The ocean views from the room are priceless. If you have a chance get the penthouse its well worth the money. If you have a deluxe ocean view room make sure you get it on 3rd or 4th floor because power lines block your view quite a bit if not. The food is amazing, and also the owner is really helpful and funny guy well knowledgeable about everything in area. I loved going for walks along the beach only 15 min walk to patong beach with ocean there you forget you are walking. They also rent motorbikes make sure do drive up the coast to surin beach wow picture perfect place. Orchid hotel is away from all the madness of patong beach but close enough for 55 minute motorbike ride. I stayed for about 2 weeks and couldnt of picked a better place. Price was not bad all very very reasonable

This was my 6th stay at this hotel. So far we could watch NHK channel from TV in the rooms, however it became unavailable for some reasons (probably for saving the cost, I guess). In addition, TV quality as hardware is very poor. WiFi is so weak inside of the hotel. These three points should be improved in order for us to continue to use this hotel. as I am a repeater to use this hotel.

Hotellet ligger lite off om man vill ha nära till Patong. Slitet och inte alltför rent. Bäddning o städning gjordes varje dag. Bara en del av personalen klarade hyfsad engelska. Till ett överkomligt pris så var hotellet OK men inte mer.

Lugn oas mitt i det fartfyllda Patong.
Hotellet var perfekt beläget, i den norra delen av Patong Beach, kallat Kalim Bay. Det tog ungefär 20-30 min att promenera ner till Bangla road och shoppingstråket nere vid själva Patong. Det fann vi perfekt med liv och rörelse på lagom avstånd. Personalen var trevlig och väldigt tillmötesgående. Alla rum verkade ha balkong alternativt uteplats. Över lag ett bra hotell. Minus blir dock de alldeles för mjuka sängarna med tillhörande på tok för höga kuddar. Poolen hade endast sol ett par timmar mitt på dagen och var 1.90 djup på alla ställen. Frukosten bestod inte av en buffé utan fanns att välja får en ganska fantasilös meny.
