I liked the area that the building was situated. But the cleanliness and service was bad.. We asked for another room since the one that we had was not clean and they kept on saying that they will change it tomorrow until our vacation was over so our room stayed the same. It states that the rooms are soundproof but you can hear everyone in the hotel and everyone hears you. Not a good experience..

This is not a hotel! It can only be described as a doss house, it was dirty, everything was broken, we paid for breakfast and there were no amenities to even have food! One night was a night too much for us, we booked elsewhere.

This is an inexpensive way to stay in Paris. Close to a metro station in the 17th and restaurants and grocery store. Absolutely no frills. just fine for one person who needs a place to sleep on the cheap. I will stay there again since it was affordable. The people were nice enough

Avoid staying here
I always book budget hotels as I don’t see the point of paying a lot when I’m hardly in the room but this hotel takes budget to a different level! There was a constant dreadful smell - I think it was the drains and strong cigarette smoke that woke me up at night. The towels were grubby, torn and had holes in them!! and the sheets had a stain on them. I didn’t mind it being small but It just felt dirty in there. On the plus side the reception staff were helpful and friendly.

Super tiny room but in a good location
The room was super small! It was the smallest hotel room I have ever seen in my life - its size was around 3m x 2m only! There was just one bed, one chair and one small cabinet with literally no space left on the floor to put an opened suitcase! We had to keep moving the suitcase if we wanted to enter the bathroom or leave the room as, otherwise, doors would not open.

Stayed there for one night. The hotel is super old, they dont have an elevator and i was on the 3rd floor! Although they helped with my luggage it was a pain to go up and down the stairs. The bedding seemed dirty, the sink was plugged and i have seen little bugs in the bathroom. Location was close to metro but the area in general was sketchy.

Exactly as listed, good hotel!
this is not a 5 star hotel, it doesn't claim to be. as a price conscious traveler I chose this hotel based on other reviews and was was pleased with this choice. It is in a good neighbourhood, the staff is very friendly, my lack of French was not a problem. it is close to the Metro and buses. I felt safe and close to everything I needed. the curving stairs were not a problem for me and I'm not the most fit person. I was prepared to be overcome by the stairs as one other review warned, but in the end, not a problem. my room was cleaned daily and again, the staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Was ok
Had an ok experience within my budget. The hotel condition is not good with tiny rooms and it does need renovation. But the price considering location was ok overall. The staffs were really good, specially the counter person. He didn't speak English well but was always extra helpful at every need. There was price difference with my Hotel.com booking and had paid few euros extra. So be careful about it.

good value within walking distance of Montmatre
i arrived late at night and i was given a free room upgrade to include my own bathroom for three nights which i was happy about. the shower was always hot. good wifi and easy going staff. other guests made a lot of noise in the middle of the night which made it hard to sleep but as soon as i complained to staff the noise stopped immediately. not luxurious but satisfactory. within easy walking distance to the highly desirable Montmartre area/Moulin Rouge. Local cafes and grocery stores. Close to Metro. convenient luggage storage as well.

Great staff!
Extremely friendly staff who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Rooms are average, but get serviced very well on a daily basis. Only 3 minute walk to the metro. All in all, a great stay! Thanks Team Hotel de l'Europe!

Horrible Place - Don't stay here
This place is horrible. No lift only a dangerous spiral staircase. No AC not even a fan, our stay was during the recent Paris heatwave so our room was a sweat box. The sink leaked and you had to turn on the sink faucet slowly or you got a shower. We were lucky to have an bathroom other rooms had to share a common bathroom. Management showed no concern when we told them that picture had fallen on us just after we had finally got asleep. Since the room was so hot a sweat box - we left the room as soon as we could in the morning and not return till much later on. I wonder if ever anyone from Expedia has visited this property- there is cheap but this place is below cheap I would expect an certain level of amenities- this place had one Wifi(wow). Pick another place to stay in Paris - don't stay here.

Avoid Hôtel de l'Europe at all costs.
Arrived early evening after an exhausting day's travel to be told that our booked room was not available to us. We were led down the street to another hotel of poorer quality and told we were staying there that night but could come back to the Hotel de l'Europe for the second night of our stay. We were put up in a small room with three-quarter size bed on the third floor up a winding staircase. No facilities, no air-con or fans - sweltering in 37 deg heat. Next day discovered that there never was a room for us for either night in the hotel we booked and paid for. Hotel owner farmed us out to another hotel paying them half of the rate we paid Expedia.

Rooms are good but NO LIFT. Stairs are very small and its a problematic to carry the luggage ti 2nd and 3rd floor. WiFi speed was very good.

Friendly, laid back place!
Very nice front desk people. They were very helpful and friendly. The room was nice, but needed air conditioning for sure. It was very close to the metro and very convenient. Also needs faster wifi.

Not a great hotel
So I was kinda fooled by the pictures thinking that this hotel was really nice. Honestly I paid for a triple room and got a double bed with a cot. No sofa as described in the reservations and it definitely didn't feel like a hotel. Paid for continental breakfast and only got breads with coffee and orange juice. Felt cheated out of the breakfast, there were no eggs, meats, fruits basically nothing from a continental breakfast. I would not stay here again. The customer service was ok but other than that I felt like I slept in a box (and I was told that this room was the biggest he had)

Stayed here for 5 nights, good location close to metro, fast check in, room was small but worked, room was very clean & serviced daily, BEWARE IT HAS NO A/C in rooms! Some rooms dont have bathroom! NO breakfast buffet as advertised they just serve bread, juice & coffee. No elevators so its very dificult to carry everything up to room!

On the whole a reasonable place to stay, nothing out of this world, but nothing to terrible either. Handily placed down a quite side street, away from the main road, but within a 2 minute walk of a Metro (underground) station.

OMG! I MISS IT ALREADY!
My son and I loved this little hotel! Was looking for a dirt cheap trip to Paris for Spring Break and found this hotel. This is a NO FRILLS hotel. We had a 6 night stay. It's not much more than a made-over-hostel, but it served its purpose. We showered and slept there...and not much else since we were out from 9am-9pm daily. The beds were SO comfortable, great hot shower, and very clean. I do have to say that the internet was very slow to non-existent but then again....we were not really trying to have access since we were in Paris and had soooo many things to do and see! The staff were SUPER friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about how we could get around easily on the Metro. Rooms were very small and cramped, but as stated, served its purpose. No shower curtain in the bathroom. Great for the price.

Best choice: close to transport lines,food, etc
Perfec place, cheap, clean, closed to chinese, halal, french food. Bars and restaurants very close, and the staff very compromise with differents languages.
