The hotel is great, staff is friendly, rooms clean.. and the prices are great… The only drawback I had whatsoever was they do not have a in-house restaurant… but I cannot even complain about that, because of the hotels location you can get local food of all ranges/types, basically right out of the door, and within walking distance of the hotel. So it’s definitely the place to stay, for comfort convenience and exploring.. I personally loved it there…

The property is a bit run down, you can sound everywhere. Sound proof is not great, constant slamming of doors in the hallway. Whether staff or guests, not knowing to keep noice level down. Need improvement, especially in sound proofing it. Renovations need to be done to maintain hotel quality. Anybody can access the hotel and the rooms so no privacy. Overall the rooms seem clean but the 8th floor is for the hotel house keeping staff but need to be move somewhere else as it too noisy with lots of sound. And the tv don’t have enough programs for it to be consider a hotel. Need improvement is my final decision on this hotel.

Short walk to Imperial Mall and lively Wireless Walk with lots of eateries. Small shops around like grocery stores, massage, laundry etc. However have to find parking by ourselves because no specific parking for guests.

Strong smoking smell in the room
Giving bad review because hotel did not take any action to control people from smoke in the room/bathroom at the non smoking floor (level6) . It's not my first experience from having this issue while staying here. I did double confirm that I booked an non smoking room. What the hotel with do is only request the housekeeping to spray the room with air refresher but not finding which uncivilized human smoking In the room. No penalty given and just let them do whatever they want. Kinda disappointed.

Location of the hotel is great. It’s near shopping mall, restaurants, cafes, laundry are all nearby. There’s no mini fridge in the room. There’s no tissue paper also. That’s the only bad thing considering those are basic stuff found in any other hotel.

charges on my deposit
All was ok till when i check out to claim my deposit of RM50 back. instead of getting my deposit of $50, i received only $40. i was told this was due to the tax. This payment deduction from my deposit feel like a hidden charges as i was not told during my booking and payment was already done in advance. definitely not happy!

+ the hotel was good and clean. + near to restaurants and shops. - there is no refrigerator and our room. - somehow our room was a smoking room (need to note that in future bookings). - somehow at our time of stay there was a blackout and the hotel doesn't have any generators or backup power.

In the Heart of Miri
Ano Hotel made me feel like a valued client from the start. The room was well appointed and the bed comfortable. It lacked a fridge; however, staff stored necessary items in the fridge in the lobby area. The hotel was quiet in spite of it being the weekend and busy with guests. The front desk went out of their way to help me get to sites I wanted to visit (Canada Hill, Coco Cabana beach). There were good and inexpensive neighbourhood restaurants featuring a variety of cuisines in the immediate area. I would certainly stay at the Ano again.
