One of THE worst stay experiences I’ve had. I booked a 5night stay here for my Umrah trip and I don’t wish the experience the hotel provides on anyone. The rooms are run down, towels torn (yes they had holes in them), the bathroom smelled of open sewage, and on the first night, the bathroom from the next door overflowed into our room. Our room was flooded and when I asked what happened, the helper staff wanted us to hush because the room next door was occupied by a Saudi family. When I went to the front desk to discuss, there was a short, fat chick who literally rolled her eyes at me. They treat Saudi guests different than other immigrant guests; you can feel the racism in the way they address your queries v/s queries from Saudis. There is no response from room service, even after you place multiple requests for extra towels, and bottles of water (I counted 4 hours, and still no service). The hotel manager didn’t seem to care much either. It seemed like they somehow expected me to ok with the situation. The only good thing about this hotel, however, is the distance to the Haram. I ended up canceling the rest of my stay and shifted to the Fairmont. Elaf still ended up charging me for one day and there was no help from the hotel as we were checking out. They tried to make the refund process for the remaining nights as difficult as possible thinking that as an immigrant, I would just go along with the flow.
