The history of the Belgian province of Limburg is rather odd compared with the rest of the region. Unlike the rest of Flanders, this province was never part of the Spanish or Austrian Netherlands. Instead, it belonged to the Prince-Bishopric of Liège until the 18th century. You can still see traces of this history today.

Visit the orchards and the rolling hills of Hesbaye in the spring, discover the green valleys or admire Campine and cycle or walk through the woods.
