Very noisy trainline behind hotel all night freight trains running vibrates the walls! Rude reception staff on the morning we checked out! Shame really as the room was amazing and so was the food in the restaurant! Other two factors let the hotel down and i would not return.

Dear Mr. Anonymous, thank you for your review. We do have differnt rooms, some are already modernised others are not. As you have submitted the Feedback Anonymouslie we can not reconstruct that. It seems you have been staying in one of the non modernised rooms, sorry for any inconvenince. As a family hotel we are always modernizing the rooms, this happens in stages. We are sitting on the banks of the river rhine, opposite the City centre, a ferry connects the hotel with the centre during day time. At night time there are plenty of taxies which coast about 8-10€ to center or back. Best regards, Nils Mehlhorn & Diehls Team

If you enjoyed the 70's then this place is for you
Very old attitude and decor, from the mushroom coloured bathroom suite to the lack of coffee making equipment. No restaurants in the locality either :( Freight trains running all through the night about 10 metres from your room could only be drowned out by the noisy and ineffective aircon. The location is also an issue, next time we stay on the koblenz side - the town is fab.

The train, we cannnot change, there is a traintrack nearby and we did already invest a large sum in noise reduction. THerefore we have only the chance to renovate the rooms one by one, as we are not a chain hotel but a family owned and runned hotel. Sorry for any inconvenience may caused during your stay. This is an upscale property but at rates that are very attractive. The staff are very attentive. Loved the view overlooking the Rhine. The only down side is that you must take a bus, train, or taxi to the center of town. That said, the staff can direct you to bus and train stops just a short walk away and these are very frequent. You can request a taxi, but you might wait approx. 10 minutes.

European Tour
A very well run Hotel with high standards. Our room faced the river and the view was great looking straight over the Rhine to Koblenz. We never ate here but the restaurant looked great and was again overlooking the river. The room was a modest size and had table and chairs and a wall desk for laptop etc the WiFi functioned well and power was easily accessed at desk top level. A large comfy bed with separate duvets made for a great night's sleep while the bathroom was clean, modern and well appointed. Slight draw back is that the location is a 40 minute walk away from the town centre or boat pier, taxis are available but the route is congested at peak hours so take good walking shoes and there are no worries.

Indeed we are not located at the city centre, yet this disatvantage gives us the advantage to be based right on the banks of the river rhine. During the summe (April-Oktober) there is also a little ferryboat connecting the hotel with the centre daily 8.30am to 6.30pm. Regards from the river rhine and safe journey through europe. Mooi gelegen, binnenstad/centrum makkelijk bereikbaar. Spoor achter het hotel langs, veel treinen, wel gehorig, niét hinderlijk. Sanitair gedateerd, wél schoon Ontbijt erg goed, Duitse grundlichkeit! Op de kamers géén informatiemap, met oa wifi code, tips en trucs over Koblenz, jammer.....

Für das Fest "Rhein in Flammen" war das Hotel für uns die perfekte Unterkunft direkt am Rheinufer gelegen. Schöne Restaurant - Terrasse. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Radtouren ( Radgarage). Personenfähre zur Innenstadt fuhr an diesen Wochenende auch ausnahmsweise bis spät abends. Sonst gibt es Busverbindung ab Kapuzinerplatz 2 Stationen zum Forum/ Zentralplatz. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und gepflegt mit Klimaanlage. Sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet.

Die Lage war perfekt - direkt am Wasser. Personal war freundlich. Das Hotel war von außen & auch von der Einrichtung her über die Jahre sehr herabgekommen. Es war zwar sauber aber der veraltete Geruch hat mir die Übernachtung im Hotel ungenießbar gemacht. Außerdem fuhr direkt hinter unserem Hotelzimmer die Bahn. So hörte sich es teilweise wie ein Erdbeben an. Wir waren etwas enttäuscht. Es kann in einem anderen Zimmer jedoch vielleicht besser sein & wir haben gesehen dass es gerade renoviert wird.

Ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, aber dafür durchaus mit Charme. Es wäre schön, wenn zu Zeiten in denen viele Gäste einchecken eine zweite Person einspringen würde. Dann steht man nicht ewig in der Lobby.

Ligger op af togbane
God service, lækker morgenmad, rent og pænt. Men hotellet ligger klods op af togskinner som vækkede mig tidligt nat/morgen. Dette selvom vinduer var lukket, men godstoge er tunge og larmer meget.
