"This hotel is also a youth hostel on the ground floor, so there was lots of great energy during meals and in the common areas. Our rooms were comfortable and decorated in the style of an old school- we had a chemistry book on the wall! Delicious meals and warm hospitality as well as a location 1 minute from a great geothermal spa made this first stop on our vacation a favorite. We stayed two nights and enjoyed every minute of our time. The pool table in the basement was a favorite spot."

The decor was well executed and the hotel restaurant had great food. A great place to rest along the Golden Circle. Close to Geysir, Gullfoss and the Crater. The area around the hotel is rural and gorgeous. "

"Loved the location by Gulfoss Falls. The dinner was lovely and the breakfast was the usual egg, ham, cheese and fruit which was nicely done. A quiet location and a good night’s sleep!"

"I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with hot tub with two friends for one night as part of our visit to the south coast of Iceland. The property is lovely, recently renovated and simple but beautiful. The apartment was spacious and well equipped with a kitchenette with glasses, plates, silverware, and enough basic pots and pans to cook if you like. We ate at the restaurant on site instead - the food was delicious and the wine selection was very nice. The star of the show was the private hot tub! All we had to do was uncover it and it was pre heated and very clean, and more hot water flowed in every 15 minutes or so. We used the provided robes, and the towel warmer in the bathroom was perfect for drying our suits after. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and functional. Buffet breakfast the next morning was included and was the best we had in Iceland with plentiful options of eggs sausage breads meats and cheeses, waffle bar, fruits, etc. The staff was kind and helpful, especially when we arrived shortly before restaurant close (they helped us get seated immediately) and when we left a personal item in the breakfast room (they located it right away and held it for us until we could return). This hotel is between the attractions on the south coast and the Golden Circle, and was only about 25 minutes to the Westman Island ferry. There seemed to be a few large tour groups, and the common area saunas and hot tub seemed like they were a little busy."
