Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Very convenient for skiing and other outdoor activities in a beautiful area. Close walk to stores and restaurants.

Great history but needs a few updates
Fantastic historical hotel but not well updated for modern amenities or technology. The food was amazing some of the best we had in Norway.

Great location and beautiful hotel
Great location to the train station, shopping, and trails. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Lots of Norwegian decor and beautiful interior. The room was quiet.

Super friendly staff and great service. We had dinner at the hotel restraurant which performed very high service and food quality. Truly a recommendation.

We really enjoyed staying at Dr Holms Hotel. It’s old, appears to have an original building and multiple additions, but the grand, rich character is still there. Breakfast was great- we just wish we had more time!

Old fashion, ok food, clean rooms, friendly staff
Clean rooms, ok dinner but boring with the same small meny everyday. Did not like the breakfast, no lattemachine, scrambeled eggs from powder and extremely dry bread. The hotel lounge is nice and cozy, but they played horrible music( heavyrock) and I had to ask them to change. The staff should really try to make people spend time i the lounge aerea because there were hardly any people there after 8 PM even though the hotel had a lot of guests. We are a little disapointed.

Wonderful!!
What a wonderfully charming old hotel. We spent some time wandering the hotel and checking out all the nooks and crannies. We enjoyed the inviting lobby with the crackling fireplace. The staff was very friendly and helpful both at checking in and out. The facility was very clean and the room had all the necessities. We highly recommend staying here.

Disinterested staff. Huge old hotel that was previously a respiratory sanirtarium. Has a lot of character but is in need of freshening up. Our twin bedroom looked like a monastery. Sterile sparsely furnished with one small picture although the hotel has a plethora of old, unintretesting art. Curtains allowed the summer sunshibe to come in. Needs a blackout drape. Shampoo and creme rinse in room but only liquid bath soap in dispenser. No coffee maker. On the positive side, the breakfast was excellent. We ate at Sohphia's Cafe. Another mediocre experience. Filled our stomachs but unsatisfying food. I really was excited to stay in this old hotel, but it really disappointed me. I'm calling it as I see it.

A lovely property with very friendly staff. The location is quite beautiful! We were there in June and the town itself is a bit slow, which was to our liking, but if you want a vibrant “scene” June is not the month! Love the history of the place as well.

God morgenmad
Vi boede 5 dage på hotellet. Havde booket et dob værelse, der er ikke meget plads og slet ikke til at hænge skitøj op. Fint med køleskab men ingen stol til skrivebord, så du kan kun sidde i sengen. Træ paneler og vindu trænger til istandsættelse, vinduet kunne dårligt åbne/lukke. Fin morgenmad og god mad i restauranten med rigtig god service fra Jon. Ingen informationer ved ankomst heller ikke en folder med info. Receptionen er ofte kun bemandet med 1 person så der er ventetid. Hotellet ligger tæt på alt så det er et plus. Vi prøver et andet og billigere hotel næste vinter.

Dårlig ventilasjon
Fint ærverdig hotel med god mat og med et fint bassengområde. Det som trekker ned er at det ikke finnes vannkoker på rommet samt at det ikke fantes ventilasjon. Vi hadde et tremannsrom og den ene sengen stod under vinduet så vi fikk ikke luftet på natten.
