Beginning of this stay was quite disappointing, upon arrival we were told we’d been upgraded which wasn’t the case and the room they had given us had a broken door and no double bed which had been clearly requested. We arrived at 9:30 but due to the issue with the room and waiting for over 20 minutes for them to give us a new room key meant we missed dinner which shut at 10pm and room service charges extra which we didn’t feel was fair for us to have to pay seeing as we only missed dinner because of the issues with our room taking so long. We ended up having room service and not having to pay the charge as I explained I didn’t feel it was fair. We were then told that the phone in our room didn’t work and to go down to reception in the morning and they would find us another room. When we went to reception in the morning it was a different person and the message clearly hadn’t been passed on as we were met with confusion and rudeness which was disappointing. No free bottle of water on arrival which has been standard everywhere else we have been, and costs €4 per bottle of 500ml which is horrendous! The rest of our stay here was good it was just disappointing how rude the front desk staff that we had dealt with were. Couldn’t fault the restaurant staff, they are all super welcoming and made our stay much more pleasant. I would like to say that the issues we had were sorted and the hotel was lovely, however the few rude encounters we had with staff did put a dampener on our stay
