Conveniently located 5 min from the airport, this is the perfect hotel if you want to be close from and to your flight. There is no airport transfer service, taxi ride is 20 euros from , and 17 euros to the airport! Although the front desk arranged our taxi to the airport.
It is important to rent a car when going around Chania from this location because there is no public transport nearby.
The front desk assisted us with car rental once we arrived at the hotel, when we realized taxi rides will be very expensive around Chania. This was a local rental company, 90 euros for 2 days, car was delivered to and picked up from the hotel, including insurance. We calculated this is about reasonable considering going back to the airport to rent will cost another 17 euros.
It is very helpful to drive a small car, and drive defensively- the streets are very narrow.
The hotel staff is very accommodating, respectful and welcoming. Special mention to Natasha who made sure we have our taxi for the very early flight home, and to Anastassis who made espresso very early in the morning.
The hotel structure (we were told) is 10 years old but it is very well-maintained, the bathrooms and the sheets are very clean. There is a family history to this hotel related to olive pressing, and you can see the old machineries in front!
The neighborhood is quiet but you will also hear occasional fighter jets as the hotel is located near the military base.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, and we recommend this hotel
