Big room with minimum sofa seating. Hard bed and pillow. Bathroom dimly lit difficult for shaving. Minimum TV channel. No water dispenser outside. Seaview rooms ver noisy due to facing road with speed breaker stripes.

The front desk person could not communicate One room key so you couldnt leave air con on to cool the wee hot box when you went out The toilet nearly fell over when you sat on it Had to ask for wifi password The listing said there was a safe but there wasnt The noise from the road was very loud When calling reception from room or mobile there was no answer

Georgetown visit
Very good hotel with nice bathroom and bedroom Unfortunately the foot ferry from butterworth drops you about a 10 min walk up the road. Be careful of traffic You have to pay for tourist tax so I would advise you to get a receipt for this as I was nearly charged twice

Hotel was across the street from a buss turminal. There was a Free "CAT" buss that circled the George Town area that we used daily. The hotel was located on the mian foad that circled the Panang Island making it easy to go and see everything we wanted. Hotel staff was friendly,wonderful and spoke English with us. They were accomidating when asked for extra towels, ice, etc. Plenty of hot water for showers and room was air conditioned. Very confortable and the price was good--we needed two rooms for the 3 adults.

Breakfast finished by 9.30am, nothing much left but yet charged RM22 for additional children. Charged additional RM 40 for a child but neva even give any extra beds or anything... Then y charged additional?

Overall ok
The room was ok (nice, beautifull and clean). Breakfast menu ok. The location was very strategic, in front of Jeti rapidpenang terminal. One flaw is I felt intimidated when had a breakfast there, because the waitress always keep her eyes on me (I had a breakfast for two days there and I always had the same situation), like she was very insecure with me. What's wrong with me?? 😢

Bad breakfast / No internet/No customer service
When we checked in the lady at reception told us we only had one room booked, when we actually had 2 rooms booked. After some time I told her to check if it was under a different name , which it was I had to suggest this to her , she made no suggestions apart from telling me to contact Expedia as I had booked with them. The rooms given to us were quite small. The internet does not work in the bedrooms therefore you have to be in the lobby, embarrassing with guests from hotel sitting in lobby using the Internet. After a few complaints about the Internet we were moved to the fifth floor as they told us the wifi was better on that floor, BUT IT WAS NOT. Could not be bothered to go up and down to complain about it. The breakfast is very very basic, although the kitchen staff were helpful and made us omelettes on request. If you are a westerner be prepared to have only coffee/tea /toast and eggs, rest is noodles with sauce. Reception staff don't speak good English , we asked the man to tell us the name of the local ferry port he did not know and made no attempt to help with it, and as the Internet did not work we asked if he could order us Grab, like uber, and he had same problem loading the internet, but he made no other attempt to help us to get to the ferry port .

Nice room in convenient location
Well done basic hotel room with great shower facilities. Staff were unhelpful bordering on rude at times. When we arrived there were no towels or toilet paper in room. We alerted the staff to this but had to ask again several hours later. Hotel is very convenient for public transport and tourist attractions. Nazzeera's cafe round the corner is lovely and provides an excellent breakfast for just 10RM compared to the disappointing breakfast at hotel 19.

The wifi not good at all,very slow and hardly got connected,coz of that my work got pending. Breakfast seriously sucks and charged RM15 for children. There is no extra pillows as stated 1 child allowed.

She is always checking the food. And if you don't eat the way that she wants you to eat she will be there to tell you what to do. Again watchout for that lady

When the room safe-deposit box cannot reopens, was told not to used it anymore, as she is not always available to reopen it if the deposit box fail again! What an objective answer and condescending staff and a supervisor too.

Transport and food an easy walk.
After a not so happy room check in, the second day brought some good results and the remainder of 5 nights at Hotel 19 were very comfortable. Thank you to the staff and particularly Alice.

Within walked distance in Heritage zone.
1) House keeping no provide face towels, until we checked out mentioned about it, the registra admitted they knew about it. We were supposed better served, right? 2) Counter Registra not that informative to brief us about after 11.30am check out time, will blocked us to enter our room when we came back at 12pm. Is only 30 mins. Why no brief us abt the room blocking ? 3) No provide breakfast voucher to us, we realised they was breakfast in the morning, another staff asked for voucher from us. Actually should use voucher or no need ? 4) Breakfast food not that fresh and sumptous. Should be better.

Efficient, clean, updated hotel with very simple tasteful décor. Located directly across from the bus and ferry terminal, and very short walk to Clan Jetties, and Little India.

Nobody at the Reception to refund our deposit!
Nobody was at the Reception Desk on the morning of our check-out Feb 18th. We couldn't wait around because we have to catch the 6am ferry to Butterworth to make the 7.20am train to KL to make our flight back to the US. At KL, we called the Manager, Alice. She explained that the Receptionist was at their other sister hotel running errands that morning. I emailed the manager my nice in JB's info for Alice to send the refund check to. Not getting any response, 2 days ago I followed up with another email with my niece's Maybank account so the manager, Alice could make a direct deposit of our MYR 50 deposit. Up to today still, no response. Hotels.com need to be aware that the management of Hotel 19 is not returning our deposit. Do something. The day before, I spoke to the housekeeping staff. Apparently he is the only one taking care of 47 units. Poor guy. But for us 2 persons, only 1 set of toiletries was given. My guess is on the morning of our check-out, the Receptionist was picking up Guests Breakfast Buffet to make the 7am Breakfast for Guest since the Alice herself said it is prepared off site.

Nice, minimal hotel
Location is great for walking to Chinatown. The room was comfortable and clean. Only two complaints: the breakfast included with the room was terrible. We only tried it the first day and after that chose to go out for breakfast. The internet situation is sketchy. You get user id/passwords that expire and only work for one device. You constantly have to keep logging in with user id/password.

Convenient and clean hotel
George Town is well worth an extended stay and this hotel is a great base to start from. Located ideally to arrive from the airport, to explore George Town and Penang and to make the short trip to Langkawi. Staff was nice and helpful, the room was clean and well-equipped. Despite facing a major road, the windows keep out most of the noise and the curtains keep the room dark at night. Would come back any time. They should just upgrade the breakfast somewhat.

Good position to explore Georgtown and Penang.
Very slow internet, breakfast very basic for western tastes. Reception staff do not know nothing about local area and not able to really help to explore the city. Nice and clean room, good AC. 10 minutes walk to ferry jetty.

Two Nights in Penang (George Town area)
I arrived late and the front desk employee checked me in efficiently, so I can get to my room quickly. The staff is incredibly helpful and the breakfast buffet is delicious. The Wifi is great and the room is very comfortable (both the bed, the AC, and the bathroom space).

Dirty rooms - rude staff - noisy place
Good location, next Armenian street attractions, but on a busy and noisy major road. The elevator smells terribly like being marked by cats, while no pets are allowed. The services, breakfast and room cleanness are all bad. The staff was rud and not resposive to requests to clean up the room or change towels.

Hotel was great and clean. Suprisingly wonderful for a hotel that rate. Bang for every buck spent. Parking is limited though, but otherwise everything else was good. The area might be congested with traffic in certain hours so getting to the hotel might get a little tricky. Alot of attractions nearby which are mostly walking distance

Smart hotel in good location
Well run hotel directly opposite main bus station and ferry to mainland. Only complaint was they tried to charge the taxes again having already paid them through Expedia. Spoke to manager who agreed and waived the extra charge.

Great boutique hotel
We stayed for 2 nights. The rooms had good decor. Overall the hotel looks to be recently renovated, so has the new look. Breakfast was ok. Day 1 was western food with sausages and eggs. Day 2 was local cuisine. Walkable from most UNESCO sites.

Walking distance from the jetty terminal, bus terminal, as well as a food centre. It's recently renovated so things and facilities make sense. The ventilation in the corridor needs improvement, and the breakfast is simply not welcoming. But with this price what more can you expect?

Freshly renovated with very good value for money
Hotel seemed to be very recently renovated. So everything was exceptionally clean. Location is also great! Bus from the airport stops almost at the doorstep. Al the mayor bus lines start here. There is a good food court just a couple meters away (CF Market).

Good Location
This hotel is located close to ferry and bus terminal and its so convenient to travel places. Close to hawker street if you want to experience hawker food and also close to Chulia street. Hotel rooms are nice. Nice breakfast. I have absolutely no complaints for the price i booked a room here. I will surely come back.

Everything was perfect. staffs are kind, my room is clean and nice even location is good. I can take on the city bus in front on my hotel. murals are very near also. in my room I can see the sea view. If I go to Penang again I will definitely stay there. :)

Accueil correct, la chambre était confortable sauf au niveau de l’isolation par les fenêtres (sans double vitrage) donnant sut une rue à grande circulation. Nous avons pu changer de chambre sans problème. Petit déjeuner très frugal ! Emplacement correct. Mais l’hôtel dégageait une tristesse, bien que moderne et bien équipé.
