I had booked this hotel, due to location near Gleneagles, and price... and I must say, you get what you pay for, a little more and you get so much more in Georgetown. This hotel have seen better days, I took like forever to check in.. even only me in to check in. The room was ground floor, old style, but okay and clean. The TV signal was not working, also many issues with the Wifi, and when ask in the front desk, no answer or solution when it will be fixed. Next time in Penang, I will find other hotel for my stay.

Apparently the room allocated to me was vacant for few days. The housekeeping did not check whether the condition of the bedsheets. I checked in and found lizards faeces on it. Called housekeeping and was changed after waiting for more than 15 mind. The locality of the hotel is great and easily accessible to food.

Great hotel in this price range. Property is slightly worn but you are not paying luxury prices. Staff are really friendly and let me check in super early after a night flight arrival. Breakfast surprisingly decent. Pool is fantastic! Clean and well taken care of, feels almost secluded given the city location. Convenience stores, cafes and street food nearby.

Worth the money
Worth for money , walking distance for food . Main entrance at the side road . Hotel should consider the car park facing main road is for staff parking , else is too empty . It looks so "dead" or abandoned from the main road .... tv image not that clear ....

Just outside of the old city center. Regular bus services run along jalan Burma. Several restaurants and minimarkets nearby. Breakfast optioneel were quitte limited. Some Asian hot breakfast and Some European style breakfast.

Overall, a decent, no-frills hotel. I think they could be a much better value if they set up wifi, make their breakfast a bit fancier, and provide shower temperature adjustment. LOCATION: The hotel is a bit far from Georgetown (~25min walk), but there are some good hawker food locations very close. ROOM: It's an old, functional, but clean and tidy building. There was a bit of mold growing in the grout in the bathroom, but I noticed this in all 3 Penang hotels I stayed in. This one had less than average. The toilet has a bidet. The hot water requires turning on a switch outside the bathroom, waiting for the in-room boiler to heat up then using it. As there is no control on the heat, you have to time when you use it so it's not too cold or scalding hot--this is very bad plumbing retrofit on the part of the hotel. AMENITIES: The pool in the back is very nice. An shared ironing board in the hallway looks like it hadn't seen much use. Breakfast was included which were noodles one day, congee, an egg-frying station, and toast machine. It's good enough, though I'd recommend skipping the free breakfast to go out to get a better flavorful breakfast since you're staying in Penang. WIFI: The wifi apparently hadn't been working for a long time such that they had notices about it. I looked around and actually didn't see any wifi routers visible in the room or the hallway near my room so I think they just don't have wifi in the rooms.

Disappointment beyond words
When we was shown to my room, my wife almost cry as we've never stayed in such terrible hotel in the past. I thought I booked a budget hostel rather than a hotel. It was nothing like we saw from the photos we found on the web. Maybe there are better rooms but mine is certainly the worst of them all. Environmental wise, the air cond was noisy, you can hear the rain smashing on the ground clearly which kept us awake all night. The hot water doesn't work and the TV has very poor reception, which is virtually useless. Anyway, I only stayed 1 night and I had to change to other hotel.

Excellent service
Staffs are very energetic and friendly. Ask to change the room due to noisy neighbour, and they changed it without a single word. Thanks for the excellent service. But room condition is really dissapointing, especially leakage in the toilet. Hope that maintenance will be carry out for the safety and comfort of guest and staffs.

Really a “Herittage” Hotel..
Location wise is ok but the hotel quite old; the room especially the washroom smells bad. Hopefully they will do something about it.

Value and service & location make it my choice!
Heritage 1026 was recommended to me by a young local - he was "spot-on". A great value in a great location (quiet & comfortable with everything U need nearby and none of the tourist craziness). I will stay here again!

Horrible hotel
1st room we were given was like a prison cell had to pay for upgrade to a noisy poolfront room that's all they had.Everyday there was 20 screaming kids in pool.Disgusting smells in foyer going to breakfast which was poor.Staff weren't friendly or even polite or helpful.It is a taxi ride to anything.DON'T STAY HERE VERY NOISY AT NIGHT.

Front desk staff not interested to welcome guests they continued with their own conversation kept us waiting. Room shower head holder broken, upstairs front balcony very dusty no maintenance bcos nobody occupy that area. Though it's a nice hotel, the staff is poor.
The staff took a lot of time to give us the room keys, although we prepaid for the room. The girl with the eyebrows joined was very rude. We asked for another room as it was little unhygienic she bluntly said no over the phone. The breakfast was good.

Excellent Location, Poor Upkeeping of the Premise
There was a horrible smell in my room which lingered for my entire stay period (3 nights), gave me a horrible nose allergy (no thanks to the dusty room). Toilets were mouldy, glass and mirrors were not properly cleaned. It has very noisy hallways (and rooms next to the parking lot are worse). If you're staying for business and have to work till late like me, and wish to sleep in a little more the next morning, good luck.

Over priced for condition of hotel.
Towels like tissue paper, bathroom floor mat with holes. Not the room we booked and they didn't care. Reception staff non engaging. No welcome hello or ask of our stay at checkout. This hotel 1 1/2 star at best.

we stay for 1 night, since our flight was early in the morning, we arrived at the hotel around 11am. kept the baggage, then out for lunch. back again at 2pm (as their check in is 2pm), still have to wait until 3pm because they're still cleaning the room. Thanks to Mr. Harul who made us possible to enter our room more quicker than the receptionist crew who just make one call to check the room and then did nothing else. there were no towels in our room, we asked for it, they said they're running out of towel due to laundry problem and gave us swimming towel after our second call. the wifi is bad in our room, you need to go to the lobby is you want good wifi connection.

Old hotel with character, but needs improvement
Old hotel with much needed refurbishment. Poor Wifi I couldn't get service in my room and I often could only get service in the breakfast. Breakfast can be improved: more choice or at least fresh fruit. The room was adequate, but comfortable. The best feature was the pool especially after a long hot day. The area is quite far from the main sights, but it's within walking range (20-25 mins). You get what you paid for and I was happy with the pool as I could have paid less for a better room, but there would have been no pool.
