We stayed one night, room was reasonably clean, staff was super friendly. Breakfast is included, very basic but enough to start the day. The bread on the table appeared to be homemade and was very good. Small kitchen area for everyone trying to cook breakfast at the same time but doable. All in all a good experience.
What a wonderful place to stay nestled in the tropical rainforests and mountains. Our room was extremely clean and had everything we would need. The owners were fabulous. We checked in after hours and they went out of their way to accommodate us! Loved the short distance to the glowworm forest and good dinning.
Very nice chalet style accommodation with comfortable loft sleeping and living area below. No electrical outlets in the bathroom was a bit unusual though.

Right by the highway with walking distance to restaurants
Although the pictures of the property online were quite attractive the actual property was lacking in appeal. The room carpeting was dirty and looked like it hadn’t been replaced in too many years to even guess. The room had a musty smell and anyone with allergies or breathing issues (me) would have issues. The handrails were covered with metal which was slippery, impossible to grip and was either HOT or cold and dangerous to anyone who required a rail to hold going up the stairs. Rating this property with a 2 would be generous.
Very close to Fox Glacier helicopter tour experiences. The lodge also offered a guided glo worm walk through the Minnehaha walkway, a good way to meet other travellers.
Property has private cabins, shared fascilities and easy access for campervans. Very quiet and relaxed atmosphere.
We had a compact room and were therefore offered the use of a small room opposite for our luggage, which we didn't need. Everything in the room was clean but the carpet was worn. The location was quiet. Kettle and breakfast were in a communal kitchen which was more hostel-style than hotel. Adequate food was laid out in the morning, which we helped ourselves to. It was off-putting that people were expected to do their own washing up, and we saw people just rinsing things minimally under the tap rather than washing them properly.
Really wish we could have stayed here longer. Definitely would return. Room was gorgeous and breakfast amazing. Walking distance to glowworms was an added bonus.

Room was a nice size. Bed was comfortable; I appreciated the extra comforters and a good room heater for the cold temperatures. I was surprised that we had to make our own breakfast and wash our dishes; that was a new experience for a place that advertised "breakfast included," but it worked OK.
This property appeared to be under construction. Hosts were nice and even offered a guided walk to see glow worms but the overall appearance was pretty bad for $225 NZ and not worth it. In the area we could only find one restaurant open for dinner. Really more like a camping/hostel location than a lodge.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
It was four bed room apartment booked through Wotif for 2 adults and 2 kids. However, they have charged extra for my kids. We didn't asked for a single extra things.
We were very comfortable in Room 6. We were especially impressed with the new manager who was super friendly and hosted a free night walk to the nearby Forrest to see glow worms. We thought it was a lovely addition and really enjoyed it. Good breakfast supplies, perfect shower pressure and good heat pump. Fantastic dinner recommendation of Betsy Jane’s was a triumph. Overall we thought it was a great place to stay.
The Fox Glacier Lodge was an amazing place to stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were nicely presented and the bonus glow worm tour was a great value add. I can highly recommend staying here.
This property was spotless. The brekky room very well supplied and cook yourself was great. Rooms big and well furnished. Owners very friendly and we were shown to our room and explained things. They also offer free glow worm tour at night if interested. Great little spot
The facility, although catering to both Campers and hotel guests, provided a wonderful experience for the motel crowd. Our "room" was actually a separate cabin with great amenities, especially the Continental Breakfast.
Great breakfast.
Our room was not serviced. When we asked the receptionist (and she could eventually understand what we were asking) she was not interested, said it has been missed. Didn’t offer to make up the room or even apologise.
However the man who did the glow worm tour and fixed our TV was excellent and couldn’t have been more helpful
Nice place to stay but skylight without a blind meant that we were woken early and didnt get enough sleep. Otherwise great location and good accommodation
Excellent property.... very very different..... owner was really helpfull.... highky recommended.....

Fox Glacier Lodge was disappointing. While an adequate place to spend the night I can not recommend it. With that said the separate cabin was clean and the location close to services and activities. When my wife and I stayed there was a boil water order and no bottled water was provided for things such as brushing teeth or drinking. After we checked in we had to go to a convenience store to stock up on water. The lodge permits camper vans and they are next to the cabins. This does not proved a good optic for the property. Check in staff seemed bored. The provided breakfast is some eggs and other items in the fridge for you to use to prepare your own. I am not sure what other properties are available in Fox Glacier that is better but I would not stay at the Lodge again.
Our room was spacious and clean and came with a beautiful view of the mountains.
The owners are wonderful and willing to help in any way possible. We loved this place and hope to return someday.
Highly recommend this hotel it was a very nice hotel after a long drive the room was roomy very clean and a pleasure to be in, one of the best within our three week trip
