Conveniently located, clean room with lots of amenities. However with no housekeeping services, cleaning the dishes each day in the bathroom sink using bath soap and bath towel was somewhat inconvenient.

Convenient cabin
Simple cabin that satisfied our needs. Great kitchen facilities and garden with deck. One of the rooms had no aircon so we had to move kids mattress to the main room as it was too hot in the other room. Not much to see in fairlie but close to lake Tekapo and Pukaki and Mount cook gateway.

Newly renovated! Spotless! Comfortable bed with nice linens. Great shower too. Even the patio furniture was spotless. Need I say more! Perfect location between Queenstown and Christchurch. Owner is lovely and recommended a great restaurant that we could walk to. No surprises here. Would stay again! Thank you, Jim and Joanne (Jo the clean freak :))

The property was in good condition. I LOVED the heated mattress, especially since we did not know how to work the room heater. WiFi was excellent, and Cynthia gave us a warm welcome and helpful information for dining in the area.

This was more like a small cabin than a motel, and we were very comfortable in our snuggly queen beds that were heated, and we had an electric fireplace. Air conditioning (worked but wasn’t needed), a kitchenette with a bar fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, assorted cutlery, plates, bowls and glasses/mugs. We were even supplied means of cleaning to reuse our dishes, which came in handy and stopped dirty dishes from piling up. We had a dining table with four chairs - was very handy. The shower was hot and the pressure was good. We had a carport right outside our door and a private outdoor area at the back our studio apartment/cabin with table and chairs. We were 30 minutes driving from Lake Tekapo, within 2-5 minutes walking distance to the pub/shops and the famous Fairlie Bakery and their delicious pies. This bakery was packed every morning with visitors. We also had television and internet which worked well, tv was slightly glitchy at times but wasn’t an issue. We were very comfortable here, and would happily return on our next visit. The staff were very pleasant and friendly, easy to contact and helpful - I saw the cleaner several times and I don’t remember her name but I do remember how lovely she was. We would HAPPILY return.

Excellent accommodation in Fairlie
Booked 2 rooms for my husband & i & my daughter & partner. Daughter checked in for all of us & staff member was lovely & very helpful. Rooms were warm & very clean. I appreciated the extra effort of printed instructions for use of remotes for the tv. Bed was comfortable as were pillows. More luxurious than what we were expecting. Good shower in bathroom & unit was immaculately clean. Lovely fireplace in unit as well although not used as unit was lovely & warm for winter. Private outdoor garden area would be lovely in summer or of we were staying longer. Motel is within close proximity to restaurants and shopping. Undercover car parking in front of units which is free. Units have a jug for tea & coffee & a microwave. Would highly recommend Mackenzie Motel if staying in Fairlie.

Best motel I have ever stayed in my life. Super clean, bed is comfy, and the heating is just excellent. Check-in and out is also the most convenient ever. Love this motel and also love Fiarlie!
