This property is located in Date and is quite inconvenient overall. It is located in the middle of nowhere. However I guess all guests would arrive at the property in their own transport. It was disappointing because standard room did not offer private Onsen (description mentioned indoor onsen; however there’s a note in the room written in Japanese that the water coming out of the tap is the same kind of water in the onsen 😕); the overall amenities of the hotel is very very dated (they could have upgraded them whilst retaining its heritage/traditional aspect); the toilet “offers” multiple functions eg bidet, rinsing bottom etc however none of them worked; the sink was full of scums and was positioned so low that will suit a 3-year-old toddler; buffet dinner and breakfast were very very ordinary (didn’t give me an appetite to enjoy). Overall don’t be deceived by the grand reception hall as you’ll find it very disappointing once you head up to the room. Very disappointed by the amenities (without private onsen) and the price they charge. Way overpriced.

Beautifully renovation Large rooms and fantastic onsens. The toilet in the room is small and seemingly got missed out in the renovation. Buffet meals are delicious, but as I stayed there for 3 nights and they don't make much changes to the menus, things become a bit boring...

It’s my second time to stay this hotel and everything still keep in good condition. Their onsen are very best, coz you could try to enjoy a lot of different scented hot springs.

Best Onsen resort to enjoy!
Room is very big and clean, lobby is huge and modern, staff was helpful and professional, although their English may not be very good but they will try their best to communicate with you. LOVE the ONSEN!!! It's the BEST!!!! ESPECIALLY outdoor onsen must try it, my first time to try outdoor onsen with snowing, it was a great memory for me. Their buffet breakfast and dinner all very fresh and yummy. They charged by per head so every children they will charge. But it's really worth it.

Memorable stay
We ended up upgrading our room to the Executive room and it was well worth it! The private bath was an amazing, luxurious experience!!! The room itself was clean and modern, with a tatami area to sit and lounge around. The outdoor onsen was huge and once you go towards the back you come up to an area with smaller tubs with a large variety of specific theme/smell (ex cedar, blueberry, wine, etc). Food was pretty good, the tempura was surprisingly delicious! I would come back again if I have a chance!

The varieties of out door wood and herbal onsen is most attractive! There is also guided astrology course on the roof top floor. A surprise and attraction to kids and hobbist.

Great place to chill
Had a great time - the onsen was impressive so was all the facilities. Meals were great except that the menu for buffet was an exact duplicate of the previous day - would give a 100% thumps up if the menu were different each day - at least some dishes.

One night stay at Executive Room
My room was located at level 11, which was accessible by swipe card in the lift. Room condition and amenities were excellent, a lot better then my previous 2 nights stay at standard room. The in-room onsen was big enough for 3 of us. It said the hot water was flown in directly from the source. Hot and cold water taps are accessible, so you can reduce the temperature of the water to suit toddlers. My son had good time splashing water. Coffee machine (the type that grind coffee beans) was provided at the mini bar. Inside the fridge besides bottle water, there were bottle green tea and Hokkaido beer 2 bottles each. Humidifier and air purifier were also provided. Overall excellent.

Staffs are helpful, but limited in English. Standard room condition is just ok. Bathroom is small and vanity is a bit old. Buffet choices (breakfast and dinner) are mostly the same across the 2 nights. Food and drinks are plentiful. Outdoor onsen is excellent. Men and women are divided into 2 sections and we rotates so all of us can try both sides.

The overall experience is great except the dinner buffet which is the only weakness. The onsen is one of the most comfortable, spacious and with more than enough varieties to try. The free use of massage chairs is another great bonus. If the hotel offers dinner options for the customer to choose will be lot more better.

One of the best Onsen resort in Hokkaido
The room is pretty big, but the bathroom was rather small as everyone normally goes to the Onsen area for shower, The Onsen area is massive one of the best Onsen we have had. The Breakfast & Dinner is Excellent with a lot of choices. The only downside is we should have stayed 2 nights in order to fully try all the type of Onsen and try all the food & drinks on offer in the Breakfast & Dinner Buffet!

the weather was so bad that the bus taking us to the hotel did not run. but midori no kaze staffs offered us alternative hotel in noboribetsu. so even though we didnt manage to go to midori no kaze, we are very pleased and satisfied for their services.

Beautiful hotel with great Onsen
The hotel was really good. We had half board and the food was excellent. The Onsen was amazing with a great outdoor area. The only downside was the hotel was not as close to Lake Toya as we would have liked. However we had a car so it was not a great problem. Without a car you would be quite limited.

Beautiful and relaxing onsen area
We decided to stay here enroute to Noboribetsu from Otaru instead of staying at Noboribetsu itself. The beautiful resort is located in a forested area in the middle of nowhere. This is not the place to stay if you are looking to shop. But if you want a peaceful relaxing place to onsen, this is it! Expansive, clean with wonderful rotenburo (different types of water) that leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized. The room is wonderful and the bed was comfy. I would recommend packing an overnight bag if you have a big luggage. The driveway to the hotel is steep and the carpark is below the hill. There are no porters, you will have a lovely wooden cart to bring your luggage up yourself. The food is average, but the onsen is completely worth it. I would love to stay again longer! Dinner ends around 9pm, so make sure you come in the afternoon to enjoy the onsen before and after dinner. It's child friendly, during dinner time, there would be carts going round with ballons and sweets for kids.:-)

Okay but nothing exciting . . .
Our experience at this hotel was generally okay, but not great. Our dinner and breakfast was mediocre. Design elements were interesting, but not up to the standard of the actual Noguchi hotels that were built from the ground up. This hotel was renovated from a old, large Japanese property so it definitely is less luxurious than newly built ryokan.

Relax and Retreat
Nice hotel surrounded with the mountain. Quite far from Sapporo but there is free shuttle bus service provided by the hotels. Onsen is really wonderful especially outdoor onsen which are separated in many wood spa tubs and a big pool onen. Very relaxing. Room is big and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast are great. Staff is very friendly , helpful and enthusiastic. Good for the ones who want to relax and retreat.
