"This property is a doorway to nature's paradise. Being set in jungle with an open living theme there is nothing to not love about Congo bongo. The cry of howler monkeys at 4am followed by the jungle waking up to the evening cry of the toucan nature is all around. "The set up of the facility is cool, the rooms are detached bungalows with an outdoor kitchenette. The grounds are beautiful. The 2 pools are very small. The staff was nice, but did not speak any English, just Spanish (FYI). We did not eat at the restaurant, instead choosing to go to Puerto Viejo, just because we liked the town. The room was tidy, but had problems with the shower head and handle on the toilet. The AC worked good. We were the only guests on the property (mid July 2018). The...

"The setting was very nice, spectacular in fact, as all of Tortuguero. The prices were however quite hard to justify."

"We enjoyed our stay. All staff were very friendly and extremley helpful. One slightly bad thing that happened was that on their end our reservation was listed for Tuesday through Thursday instead of Sunday through Tuesday. But they rectified the situation and gave us a bogger room. "

"Simple accommodations, great for the price. Steps from the beach, which was amazing. Restaurant was simple, didn't have all menu items, but food was good and staff was excellent. The only gripe was the pillows were pretty old and kinda nasty."
