The staff at the Colonial Club was very helpful. Our air conditioner was making funny sounds and my husband commented on it. It was promptly taken care of. I asked for directions to a good restaurant and was given a few options. We appreciated that the reception desk was open longer than other hotels that we stayed at.

Staff were friendly and efficient, however, room 099 was next to the smokers area behind the bar! In addition the bar/cafe ac unit was on from 0600 to 220 hrs making life very noisy.

Wouldn’t stay again.
It’s not really a resort. More like a motel with a swimming pool. Restaurant closed, pool bar closed, pizza place closed. Didn’t clean out room for 3 days just made the bed. Didn’t replenish teas/coffees/ milk toiletries. No outdoor space to sit in unless buying food at the other restaurant. Rooms extremely dated. No balcony or terrace but believe they had some rooms with but we weren’t offered to upgrade to these.

Affordable and family friendly
Great for families, we stayed 2 nights and my kids were in the pool all day. Parking was a bit of a challenge as the hotel was fully booked. Will stay again

The pool needs a lot more shade. A lot of people very sunburnt including us, trying to stay in the shade. The pizza bar should be open during the day for more affordable food options. The pool is very uneven on the bottom which you are warned about with signs but still have to be very careful. The rooms are older but comfortable. I would stay again if there were no other options but I wouldn’t rush back. Staff on the front counter were lovely at check in.

One night stay.
One night stay as close to the airport and National Park. No close by restaurants but the on-site restaurant food was reasonable quality and price. Main issue was people talking loudly way into the night in the area near the restaurant but they could be heard very clearly from the upstairs rooms.

Beautiful pools, garden areas. Food was plentiful and tasty , served quickly . Room was noisy - too many guests loud and inconsiderate late at night and early morning . Staff very efficient and responsive to issues .

We stayed here for one night, on arrival in Cairns from the UK. It is quite a large establishment. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and we had as good a nights rest as you can expect with raw jetlag. The pools are beautiful complete with beach curlews! No idea where they hide out during the day.

Noisy! This isn't the (self-proclaimed) 4 star hotel it claims to be. It's more of a Butlins without the funfair... Pontins? But the overall impression is, noise. Throughout the day there are hundreds of children running wild (literally hundreds, there were school trips booked in.) In the evening holidaymakers, seemingly feeling the effects of all day drinking, were shouting, singing and in one case fighting. But on the plus side, the room was clean and the bed comfortable.

We stayed 6 nights and had a great time great pizza restaurant and poolside flamingo bar and restaurant we had a pool day with 3 pools to choose from was perfect for us lovely walk around the hotel with beautiful tropical feels excellent room cleaning services and staff really made us feel welcome thankyou we will be back to stay again in the future

The good: Hotel was conveniently located to my area of interest. Nice resort feel. WiFi available, speed ok however dropped out a couple of times. The bad: A/C was overdue for a Major service and smelt very mouldy. Outside noise permeated into the room easily especially due to large opening under doorway and no draft barrier.

very old mattresses
The quality of the matresses was terrible. They were very old and you could feel the springs in them, I have not slept on mattresses that old since I was a child and I am 60yrs old. we booked a twin room and it was very basic.
