"We stayed here for 3 days to attend a family reunion in Buchanan, VA. The hotel has so much history and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. We had a wonderful breakfast in the dining room one morning. The hotel is old but everything is in good working order. The only reason I gave a cleanliness score of 4 is I feel the elevator could use a good cleaning and spruce up. We enjoyed Natural Bridge State Park that is just across the street while we were there, also. I highly recommend a stay here."

"Lovely hotel overall! Very friendly and helpful staff. My husband and I were traveling with our 2 and 4 year olds. My dad also was traveling with us and they were able to give us adjoining rooms. We also brought our cat. They have a $50 non-refundable pet fee, but I'm just thankful they are accommodating to pets. This was our first time traveling with a pet so we are glad it went so well. Breakfast was wonderful. There were so many options from make your own waffles to yummy bacon, eggs, cereal, juice, coffee, bread, muffins, and more. The only disappointment was that the pool and jacuzzi were closed for our stay. The exercise room looked very nice. The hotel is conveniently located near many restaurants and shopping. We love Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen down the road. Everything was quite clean from the lobby to the rooms. My dad's room did have a very loose faucet in the bathroom (room 224). I also found a white dental pick on the floor by our bed in room 222. Other than those 2 little things our rooms were very nice and smelled fresh. The air kept the rooms nice and cool. The bedding smelled fresh and clean. There was extra bedding in the cabinet for the couch that turned into a bed that was convenient and we utilized for my youngest daughter. The suite rooms we had with the kitchenette had a dishwasher, sink, dishes, silverware, toaster, fridge, and other cooking instruments. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries. Would stay here again!"
