OK, it's cheap, but that's pretty much all this place has going for it.
The room I stayed in, a "Superior Studio", was far from superior. You get a double bed, a small flat-screen telly, wired internet access with the socket positioned next to the bed but the only free power socket on the other side of the room (so that you end up with cables trailing everywhere).
The tiled floor is incredibly cold underfoot, meaning that you have to wear shoes all the time; the kitchenette is missing useful things like a kettle and washing-up liquid (if you don't wash up anything you use, they'll charge you the 30 EUR cleaning fee), you get one tiny soap and shower gel (any more is charged for at 5 EUR, so bring your own), and you're required to take any rubbish to their bins in the bowels of the hotel, with the prospect of that 30 EUR cleaning fee if you don't.
The hotel is situated opposite Besancon's main fire station, with all that implies.
If the location is important to you, stump up an extra 20 EUR a night for the Ibis a hundred yards away; if it's the price, there's an Etap opposite the main railway station which is roughly the same price and is much higher quality!
