We stayed in the suite with private pool. Pleasant stay. Orbitz doesn't give you option of dining in room or upgrading menu. Also valet is only upon arrival, check out was find car and load it by yourself.

The location of the hotel is excellent, not too far from downtown but with sufficient privacy next to the ocean. The hotel room and facilities are actually older and more worn than what we had imagined from the photos. The hotel onsen area could use some renovation in addition to upgrading of amenities as everything just seemed old in consideration of the price per night.

The property is excellent. Our unhappiness stems from the fact that when we booked the two identical suites for our family trip of 3 adults and one child, there was an extra charge for an “extra guest” for the room where one adult and one child is staying. I failed to understand the logic. When we wrote to Expedia for an explanation, it was just directed to the hotel. The hotel responded that to avoid this extra charge, we can rebook the room under 2 adults, instead of 1 adult and 1 child (since our child is 12 years old). We did not do that as the price of the room has already increased at that time. We approached the hotel staff during our stay regarding this issue and they informed us that they do not have a policy to charge extra for a child and they are not aware of the reason why Expedia imposed additional charges for an extra guest. Basically, both Expedia and the hotel could not explain the additional charge and we had to accept this extra payment which seems very unreasonable and illogical.

Awesome Staff
The staff are so accommodating. You feel.like loke a "guest" rather than a customer. We made reservations at the hotel restaurant and told our hotel assistant that we had fish allergies. When we showed up.for dinner they.presented a personalized menu just for us. One.of the best hotel experiences we have ever had.

Wonderful hotel in Beppu with great experience
We never left the hotel for the one night since we checked in. From the check in experience to dining at Gen restaurant, everything was perfect. We enjoyed the private onsen in our room and would definitely return whenever we are in the area. Thank you for making our Kyushu trip memorable.

Shiosai no yado Seikai
Shiosai no yado Seikai is an outstanding onsen/hotel in Beppu. From arrival to departure the staff, including Mr. Ohkubo, provided exceptional hospitality and service. Our room was upscale spacious, clean, modern and equipped with all the amenities that the most demanding guest would want. The furo/spa facilities were clean and well stocked with needed supplies. The food and restaurants in the hotel are excellent and can cater to any diner's needs. Shiosai no yado Seikai is an outstanding onsen/hotel to relax and enjoy being catered to by one of the most accommodating staff of people in Japan. We highly recommend Shiosai no yado Seikai to any traveler looking for an upscale onsen/hotel and look forward to staying there again on our next visit to Beppu.

Hands down the best Japanese hotel/spa we have stayed at so far. The staff was very welcoming. We each hour our own kimono to wear around the hotel! I loved our room. It was surprisingly spacious. Our view was great and we had our very own natural hot spring bath. The only dislike I have is I thought the bed was way too hard for me. Other then that, we will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful ocean view with Onsen
Very nice hotel with private Onsen and public Onsen. We woke up early to catch the sunrise while enjoying the public Onsen. The view was spectacular ! I had some itchy rash after the private Onsen on your first night, maybe I had too much Onsen the day before in Kurokawa, and the minerals were too strong for my sensitive skin. The central area is 15 -20 mins drive away. Food at the hotel is pricy but good.

We extremely enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had a Japanese room with water view. Very beautiful, excellent amenities. The hotel is on the water, very beautiful views from hotel lobby and all the rooms. The hotel staff is the very best! We were well taken care of during our stay. Every single staff member is kind, courteous, attentive and very helpful. The restaurants in the hotel are excellent. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained. The hotel had there own Onsen on the property. We are excited to return to this hotel in the future!

I could see the sunrise from the private onsen bath each room. Even though our room was western style, the floor is clean so my 1year baby could crawl.

The hotel is as great as expected. The staff are very polite and greet us with big smiles. The room is very big with private, open-air hot spring tub. The public hot spring area is also good. The Japanese styled dinner and breakfast are delicious.

A hotel that make you feel like home
We stay at a room with both Japanese style and European style. There was also a private onsen to enjoy any time. In fact, nothing is missing in the room and we feel like home. It is worth to mention the balcony facing east and we saw the sun rise inside the room when the weather was fine. Surely will recommend to my friends.

The service was very attentive and the overall experience of the stay was definitely a class higher than the others, but of course at a price. Nevertheless, it was worth the money bearing in mind the wonderful experience during the stay.

This hotel was incredible from beginning to end. We walked the short 5 minutes from the nearest JR train station and was immediately greeted by bellhops that took our luggage and brought us into the hotel reception area. The gentleman that checked us in spoke excellent English and explained to us every detail we would need to know while at the hotel. The room was fantastic! Very Japanese in style, with the water closet at the front door in its own little room, and the bathroom inside the room by the windows. The bathroom has a powder room, then further in is a shower area, and then even further in there is a private onsen bathtub that is open to the outside. The room also has a balcony that we sat on to enjoy watching the sun rise right over the ocean. We had the Japanese-style meal for our dinner. I did not love everything during the meal, but it was all quite good regardless. They have an excellent selection of sake, and the fish is always fresh and whatever is in peak season. The hotel has two public baths; one is outdoors, and one is indoors on the top floor. We went only to the indoor bath, and it was very nice. Men and women are separate, of course, so I can't comment on the women's onsen. There was no cold pool, but three different temperature hot pools, ranging from warm to quite hot. I saw a very pretty and rather large butterfly while relaxing in the pool, and also a couple of interesting insects. We only stayed one night, and very much wish we had stayed longer.
