Absolutely homely and clean accommodation. Provisions provided were excellent. Would definitely recommend and I will definitely visit here again.

Thank you very much for the great review Trevor. We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you again when next you are in Gawler. Best Regards, Gary and Leonie.
I booked the suite. It was amazing with massive lounge with pool table. The breakfast which was left for me to cook in my convenience was truly amazing. So much delicious food. The customer service was 5 star. Couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The attention to detail in the suite was brilliant. Little treats in each room & everything you could need from panadol, bandaids to femine products. The bed was comfortable & the historical splendor was informative. I had my own entrance from my car & another to the spa area. Just when I thought I couldnt be provided with anything else, I discovered the private bbq. There was lots of room for kids even though I left my behind. This place was my favorite and I will definately be coming back. Thanks so much.

Thank you for reviewing our property and giving us such a great score and comprehensive review. We welcome your feedback and wish you all the best for 2020.
This blend of modern updates with an historical building.
The sensor on the bathroom fan was annoying - would not stay on when you were in the shower and turned on when the wind blew the trees outside.

Liked: Cleanliness
The history including supporting documents. Plenty of reading material. Plenty of room
Excellent breakfast and kitchen amenities, very clean and tidy and easy to communicate with hosts! Only downside the bathroom was small however was clean and had great water pressure.
Would definitely stay again !

Thank you for your feedback. We are in the process of enlarging the bathroom so this would give guests more room and we will also be placing a larger bed in the suite also. At the present time the foundations have been dug for the slab. Hopefully next time you stay all will be well.

Loved it, loved it, loved it.With all the amenities provided, it was even more than a home away from home. Very comfortable and great hosts. We will be staying there again, but for longer this time. Thank you for a great stay.

We stopped in Gawler on our way back to Nowra after a hiking trip in the Flinders Ranges. Adelaide accommodation was booked out. We found the Eagle's Foundary on Last Minute, and what a beautiful find it turned out to be. A lovely old cottage close to the town centre. Quiet and comfortable. Easy to find. Highly recommended for anyone travelling from Adelaide to NSW on the Sturt Highway.

Hi Guys,
Thank you very much for the great review.
All the best in your travels.

The Thompson suite had everything you can and would need and more. You could actually spend the day in the suite and play pool, games, DVDs, spa and had a great time. Everything was included and the breakfast was great, highly recommend.
The proprietors had done their utmost to make our stay a wonderful experience. They had provided plenty of breakfast items for us to cook and had choices of cereals and spreads for toast. The bathroom was well stocked also.
Had a wonderful time there.
I am a returning visitor and had stayed a couple of times before. On this occasion I arrived very tired after a delayed flight and it was very late booking in and Gary was there to show me the room. The food in the fridge and cupboards provided me with a light meal before falling into a comfortable bed. The following morning cooked a full breakfast before attending a full day at Roseworthy campus just up the road. By the time I arrived back at the room I just felt like cooking something to eat and relax in front of the telly. There are quite a few restaurants in Gawler and surrounds in the Barossa. Left early the next day. So all good. .
The hosts were amazingly accomodating as were all the staff from housekeeping to the gardener.
My suite was clean and comfortable with more than ample ammenities and a well stocked fridge.
I will definitely return to the private peaceful B&B for both business and leisure travel
Thank you
Tiffany
Interesting B&B converted from an old Victorian iron & brass foundry in a residential street. Australian understanding of B&B concept can be confusing. They think providing all the elements of a full cooked breakfast in the fridge, and all the equipment to cook it counts as a B&B. Every little detail and surprise is provided here, but the bed is a little narrow and uncomfortable to modern tastes. Outside areas desperately need a clean up, and the many tools hazards mean any children would need high supervision.
What a comfortable, cozy and clean place to retreat to during stormy weather. The combustion heater, comfortable cooking, dining and lounge area. My daughter loved the billiards table. What a lovely peaceful stay we had. Highly recommend it
We stayed in the Thompson Suite and didn't want to leave! It's such a beautiful place! Lots of space, pool table, games, cute kitchen with plenty of food for breakfast! Comfortable bed and clean and tidy bathroom
We'll be back but for longer next time. Thank you :)
Relaxing getaway. Gary and Leonie were courteous, friendly but left me in peace. Which is just what I needed after a year of battling renal cancer. I will go back again and again.
