Was really looking forward to this hotel, as previous guests have given good ratings, and the website photos looked enticing. Here's my take: Hotel is quite far from downtown Verona (which we knew) however way too far to walk - and the taxi fare over a few days really added up - and on our last day we had to wail for over an hour for a taxi to come up the hill, because they had a convention in town, almost missing our paid-for train. The room was very tacky in decor, and while spacious did not feel homey nor comfortable in ambience. They allow pets in the rooms, and we had to put up with some yapping from the dog next to our room. Also the back patio which opens up from the room - was not cleaned after some pet's bathroom break, and we could seem worms in the dirt (YUCK !). On the plus side, the staff was friendly, welcoming and informative. The food and wine served was good, if a bit on the pricey side!
