Location is good, especially if you must be near certain government agencies. Otherwise, the Hotel needs a MAJOR renovation. Don't stay here if you are planning a romantic getaway. There are far better options.

I contacted Expedia to shorten my stay within the cancel for free period. Expedia talked to the Holiday inn staff and said they would do it and put a note in the system to do so. Then when I checked in they said the same, even though it still said 4 nights on the reservation. The next day they said they were going to charge me the extra night because it was too late to cancel or shorten the stay.

I’ve lived in South America for six years, I stayed in the best hotels, and yes, the hotels have been better, but the customer service in this hotel was very good. It’s hard to find anybody to go out of their way for you, and hear the staff was very friendly. Jorge is one of the lobby guys and he was just all standing. Tremendous customer service. He will probably be the reason I will be back.

This hotel should be gutted out and redone. Dirty carpets, old rooms, lousy breakfast. I pity the staff who have to put up with such a dump

Nice stay in Montevideo
This is a nice hotel. Staff was great, breakfast was nice, with lots of options. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Very conveniently located.

the hotel was clean and in a great location. The staff was very helpful. Don't judge the the hotel by it's out side appearance. The room was basic but very comfortable and clean. The cable TV had English speaking stations which was a treat and a surprise.

Cost effective, clean, comfortable stay
We stayed a couple of nights in Montevideo and wanted to be in a convenient, safe location with a good price. This Holiday Inn was definitely a great for for this. Walk out and you are in Independence Plaza, and close to the old town as well as the restaurants and shops on the Main Street. We walked here from the Buquebus terminal and it took us about 15 minutes along a picturesque pedestrian walkway. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room is small but very clean. The hotel looks a little worn down, but don’t pay too much attention to that because the things you actually need are pretty great.

Quite good except for the advertized parking at 10 dollars, which is almost never available (room for 8 cars only) so we have to use Private parking a block away and more expensive

The room is small, the gym need some improvement. The pool was amazing with warm water.

Excellent hotel for the price I paid
Very good experience. Staff very accomodating. I arived 3 hours early and even it was not time yet, the assigned us our room right away. Lend us electric adaptors, Gave a lot of advise about where to go, what to do. Room simple, but well spaced, clean bathrroom. No luxuries, but excellent for the price. My only complaint is the bed was too hard, and breakfast room was a little crowded. The city needs to address the graffity problem and a a los of wall washing. I was very satisfied.

Not a holiday inn
This is not a brand that I know. It was awful. Noise all the time, I'm not sure if they were fixing something or just banging. Breakfast just have orange and tast nothing. Cake were so tough that I could not eat it. It was probably a week old or so. Did not have more scramble eggs then I asked them to fry me a egg and they charged it apart.

Service was a little slow but cortious. Don't understand why a hotel with international status with foreign customers closes kitchen after 14:00 hours...

Good and confortable room, mattress, pillows... Wifi doesn't work properly, very bad. The hotel is very old and "tired". Should perform a refurbishment. Breakfast very poor. I would consider other hotels for future stay in Montevideo. Fitness facilities didn't work.

I forgot my documents in the safe and the hotel staff communicated with me right away to notify the situation which avoided me to lose my flight back home

Great location in Montevideo
This is a decent hotel with generally friendly staff. They were kind to provide me with an adapter and very accommodating. The bed was slightly hard for my tastes, but might be okay for some. The little shampoos and things were very nice and they were generous with them. The location was perfect- close to old town, but not in it, as it apparently gets dangerous at night. There was a great restaurant two doors down called Danube Azul or something like that. Being so close to everything was wonderful. There was a weird situation where our room didn't get cleaned one day and they told us that we should have put out the "make up room" sign on the door. That was the only real snag we had.

A Realy Good Hotel
The location of this hotel is insanely good. If you're going to museums or churches or historical sites, this hotel is smack in the middle of everything you'd want to see. A lot of the staff speak English fairly well, but I speak Spanish fairly well so I might be schewed in my view here. There are at least two grocery stores very close to the hotel, which is convient for keeping your food and beverage costs down. This was one of the best trips I've ever taken. Uruguay and its people are very nice and well-worth visiting.
