Great location -- but poorly maintained and WAY too expensive. I paid over $300 a night during the weekend of the annular solar eclipse -- my room (one of the two Pedernal Casitas) was roomy and the bed was comfortable, but it was obvious that this older facility needs some upgrades, e. g., bathroom sink drained very slowly (plumbing issue) and some of the electrical outlets didn't work (and/or were controlled by switches I could not find).
For $300+ a night, this should have been a deluxe facility, but given the rundown condition and maintenance needs, it was simply not worth it in my opinion. Also, the laundry room (1 washer, 1 dryer) was absolutely filthy -- to the point I didn't even do a load. The front desk staff mentioned that they were short staffed in terms of their cleaning crew, and it showed.
You're paying for the reputation of the Inn and its location in the middle of Georgia O'Keefe country -- definitely a beautiful landscape, and there's really no other lodging for 30+ miles in any direction, unless you want a cabin or RV spot at Ghost Ranch just up the highway.
