About Putra World Trade Centre

The Putra World Trade Centre area sits just north of Kuala Lumpur’s city centre. It is a bustling neighbourhood known for its bargain shopping, lively nightlife and good selection of hotels that range in class. It boasts colourful streets, old terraced houses that have been converted into trendy nightclubs, restaurants and guesthouses, and cultural enclaves. The Putra World Trade Centre neighbourhood is a popular area for tourists from all over the globe.

The world trade centre itself is a major attraction, as it hosts numerous annual events and international conventions. It is also a thriving cultural area, home to Indonesian, African and Chinese communities, and a walk around these neighbourhoods makes for an interesting afternoon. Other cultural sights in the area include the National Theatre and the National Gallery.

Being just outside of the city centre, it is very easy to visit many of Kuala Lumpur’s most popular attractions, including: Petronas Twin Towers, Aquaria KLCC, Merdeka Square and Berjaya Times Square Theme Park.

Visitors will find eating and drinking in the Putra World Trade Centre area quite satisfying, as there are numerous establishments around, as well as street stalls and Chinese coffee houses. There is no shortage of places to shop in the area, with everything from used clothing to known labels being offered. Sunway Putra Mall is the best place to shop for both international and domestic label brands, while the Bazaar Baru Chow Kit is great for budget clothing and souvenirs. The Bundle Chow Kit night market is known for selling cheap accessories and used clothing. Travellers can spend all day in the 10-level Sogo Shopping Complex, which is filled with shops selling clothing, electronics, gadgets, arts and crafts and souvenirs.
