Shower drain was backed up. Staff tried to fix it but couldn't get professional plumber due to Easter holidays. But staff were nice and got us a key to use another shower.

Was pleasantly surprised for the price. Easy to get to central London from this location. Away from crowds which was nice. Quite, clean, would stay here again for sure.

Great Location. Walking distance to Paddington Station and others Bus Stations. Lots of restaurants around. Beautiful area. The breakfast is not the best but it’s always good to have a “free” coffee in the morning. Staff are very kind and helpful. The only complain is that I hope you guys fix the front door, it makes a very disturbing sound that I could hear from my room. That is easy to repair. I will recommend this hotel.

Easy check in and very helpful receptionist.Great location literally 3 mins from Paddington & easy walk to Hyde Park. Only less positive feedback is at 07:30 when we asked to amend our breakfast slot (8am rather than 9am) were were told it was full. So we decided to check out & take breakfast elsewhere. However when we left at 08:15 numerous breakfast tables were empty? Plus paintwork dirty & tired plus carpet badly stained. However, towels, sheets & bathroom v clean.

Lacking some basics
I want to say that you get what you paid for - unfortunately I paid for a hotel room with a bed I could sleep in which this wasn’t. The mattress was like a breeze block and resulted in 3 hours of broken sleep 😞. The bathroom was tiny, no shower mat, no plug for the sink, no working extractor but shower was hot and good pressure. Pillows and duvet were comfy and the room was warm. Communal areas and bedding clean and tidy but under the bed was a used vape and tissue. The stairs are steep. Staff are friendly. The parking is 1 space right outside the hotel - you have to be exact (no lines) to avoid annoying other hotels and anything bigger than a medium size car will not fit. £15 a night and £20 deposit taken (not listed on hotel page) also clarification required over how long you can actually park there (24 hours or just until check out). Breakfast basic but ample - maybe a microwave would be good to warm food up. Location was really good - 10 mins to Hyde park, 5 mins to 2 good local pubs (Monkey Puzzle for a Sunday roast, the Victoria for a classic London pub). No homely touches ie pictures. No plugs by bed. Cheap room and 2 stars but expected a little more.

The service we received here was terrible went to breakfast 10 minutes before breakfast and the gentlemen told us to leave as we were “late”. Very terrible service! Spoke to us in a very argumentative tone wont be seeing me again.

Good value for money.Breakfast was ok.Staff friendly and helpful.Clean and comfortable bed.Paddington station 5 min walk away.Tiny bathroom cell, but good enough for me.No lift up to 4th floor.Noone at reception desk overnight, you're supposed to ring another hotel nearby for emergencies .Not an issue, if everybody behaves themselves, I guess.

Great small accommodation for a city trip with bus/train stops and underground nearby, also restaurants and supermarket around. Hyde Park im walking distance. Nice staff and great breakfast. Rooms are old fashioned but have a good size. Bathroom is really small and more like in a camper, but okay for short stays. Towels, Shampoo, Hairdryer available. The only negative thing was that we heard everything from the rooms above (walking, TV) which was pretty annoying. But all in all great Hotel for London City.

This hotel is highly recommended, I liked everything in this place, may not be as spacious but it is a comfortable stay, clean room (w/coffee machine, coffee etc)/bathroom (small but clean & with complete toiletries) friendly staff esp Lilla, accessible to all places to visit, simple breakfast but good, this will be my go-to place next time I visit London

The property was fine. We were disappointed when our flights changed and we couldn't stay the last night, that they were unwilling to refund any funds. We did give three days notice for the last night of 5 but that wasn't good enough.

noisy, no lift from ground floor to first floor. no one help to move your luggage from ground floor to the receiption area,' no kettle. very noisy as there is a construction site outside the property.

I've stayed at a few of these Hotels on this area near Paddington and the Columbus was a fine example of keeping things simple but doing it well. Very clean property, friendly desk service, all the basics covered and quite (and our room was on the road side) but slept fine. Tea & Coffee in the room if you need it, and a hairdryer, spacious and good continental breakfast in the morning - and more helpful service on the desk. This is a small hotel, nice and quiet, no complaints really at all.

I ELECTED TO PAY ON ARRIVAL. The hotel "took payment" three days before I checked in but then, on arrival wanted payment again. The initial payment was a "security" payment and would be refunded in 7 days! The charming staff and they were friendly explained they could not take the "security payment" as the payment. Other than this, the room was OK - no more but clean and comfortable but a little cramped. The area is excellent and the hotel convenient for everywhere I needed to be.

Check before you book. I like to spend a couple of days in London and had booked into The Columbus last November and had a fantastic stay in a down stairs room. This time I ended up at the top of the hotel, lots of stairs and replacement knees don't go well together, the room was clean but tiny with the smallest bathroom I've ever had. But the room was quiet and warm with a tv and small table with tea and coffee. The breakfast was very nice with a good coffee machine. You are around the corner from Paddington tube & rail station making the Columbus Hotel a great base for visiting London. I will probably be back but will check which room I'm getting in advance.

This is a basic budget hotel. Rooms are small and only fit for 2 people. If you have a family, get 2 rooms. There is no elevator, so you will need to carry your suitcases up the stairs. There are very few amenities in the hotel, so be aware as they are very basic. On the positive side: very nice attendants, eager to help and accommodate and great location next to Paddington station where you have lots of transportation options.

Small, boutique hotel. Only issue was that this hotel does not have an elevator (we did not think to even check for that). Knee replacement meant stairs were doable but tough. Staff was among the best we've experienced. Super helpful and friendly.
