I don’t think they’ve vacuumed the room properly. I can understand the house keeping only come on the third day to change the towels, but at least have a clean room when there’s a check-in. The dust accumulated in the vent makes the place dated and dirty. The only positive is the location of the hotel, appreciate the closeness to everything.

My room was supposed to be cleaned every 3 days. On the day it was supposed to be cleaned, I got a note that my room couldn’t be cleaned due to unforeseen circumstances. So I told the front desk about it. It was supposed to have been done the next day, but it wasn’t done then either. I told the front desk about the no cleaning again. The only service I got was my trash removed and new towels (that I didn’t need)….

The only issue we had was when the lift had s meltdown. But it was fixed in no time. This property is wonderful. Nothing too much trouble from the staff. This was our second stay here and definitely our first choice when we return to Melbourne again,

Arrived around midnight and it appears the guy on reception hadn’t had a chat with anyone for some time so decided that he’d use me as his sounding board for a few minutes. Seriously mate, it’s past midnight and I’ve just stepped off a 9 hour flight, let me sleep. Asked him about laundry, he said there was a washing machine on the 8th floor. When I asked if there was a laundry service. He said no… there is. As long as you get it down to reception before 8am! Was told that my room would only be cleaned on the third day… in my case this was Saturday. Hung a Do Not Disturb sign on the door and took laundry bag downstairs. Came back later that afternoon and asked if there was any slight chance my laundry was there. Was told to check in my room… I told them there was a DND sign on the door so that was unlikely. They said I should check anyway… alarm bells started here. Next day I got to my room only to find a cleaner in there. So much for the Do Not Disturb sign. This was Friday, the day BEFORE they should be cleaning…. Complained pretty strongly to reception. Friday left to go for dinner, DND sign on the door again. Came back to find my laundry in the room. Not sure what Do Not Disturb signs mean in this place, but in every other hotel I’ve ever stayed in it means don’t enter the room. Poor form Mercure Welcome. Won’t be staying again. Suggest you think twice about your safety and the safety of your personal belongings before staying here people. Very poor.

The hotel is in the heart of Mel city hence very convenient for transportation and shopping. Staff are nice and polite but not very helpful. Parking in a public car park is a bad experience.

Easy to get to trams , shops next door and near by with lots of restaurants nearby too. Pickup and drop off to hotel just in front . Friendly staff and helpful too.

The hotel is in the centre CBD, very convenient to go shopping and dinning. There are many car parks around the hotel however the provided car park is not recommended. The drive way is very small and the stairway is very dirty and not safe. Hotel bedsheets, carpets, bathroom are new and clean however my bedsheet had a black mark and my sister room had paint dust on the floor. We called receptionist and she was kind sending someone to help us but no one turn up until we left. One powerpoint made our adapter jamed and could not be removed. I stayed in this hotel three times but only this time I had these experience.

Very Enjoyable Stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Mercure Welcome Melbourne. We always stay at Mercure Welcome when we holiday in Melbourne. The hotel is located a short walk walk away from Melbourne city shops, Restaurants, Public Transport and Tourist Attractions. All of the staff are really friendly and helpful. Our room was located next to the lifts so we could hear the lifts going up and down all night. Overall we would definately stay at Mercure Welcome next time we holiday in Melbourne.

Average room. Disappointing that room is only serviced every 3 Days. On designated day for service, the cleaner came to our room at 4.00pm while we were having a rest - not really satisfactory. Location in CBD is good, close to trams, shopping etc. Wifi was very slow. Overall, our stay was average

Property was great but parking wasn't ideal as the car park was very full so we had to park up the top and then had to carry bags downstairs & back up when leaving as no lifts.

Mercure Welcome Melbourne is a conveniently located hotel. It is nice to know that the service and familiarity hasn't changed over the years. The breakfast is still great and they even had gluten free toast which was very much appreciated 😀 👍

Fantastic location - rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Great breakfast & great value breakfast, staff were friendly and accommodating. My only very small gripe was that days before checking in, I got an email offering me a late checkout until 4pm for $60 which I agreed to; received no communication about it - asked at the front desk and they said 'due to room availability' they couldn't do it, but would allow me to stay in the same room for $20p/h until 4pm (presumably at a cost of about $100); so not sure why it's available at a higher rate but not the promo one? Nevertheless, a good experience and I will be staying again.

Reception staff need to work on their interpersonal skills no welcome, no info given about hotel' seemed an inconvenience that we had booked. On check out no thankyou for staying etc. We had a superior twin room, I would hate to stay in a standard room as our superior room was no bigger than a cupboard will not be staying there again andwill not reccomend it to anyone

The hotel was a great location for what we needed. We found the aircon very noisy at night and couldn’t change the fan speed. Bathroom small but very clean. The bed was showing it’s age comfort wise but pillows were great. Lighting inadequate and in room furniture also showing age from a comfort perspective. We had a standard king room.

Fabulous location and service from staff but the Hotel is terribly run down. Bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen the shower head went everywhere except on me and the taps kept falling off. The bathroom door rubbed noisily on the door frame leaving small piles of shaved paint on the floor. They don’t service the room or change towels every 3 days so had to chase staff to get fresh towels.
