No hot water until the morning and when it worked it wasn’t draining so pulled out the plug to find a tonne of something moldy, hair and bacteria plugged the drain its disgusting.

Great staff, very friendly, and available to assist you in anything! Complimentary water bottles and a fridge in the room was an HUGE bonus! Also, great location as we would walk to main bus stops that were only about 5-7 minutes away depending on which one was needed. However, the room was pretty tight/small and in a very noisy area. Loud people outside would frequently wake us up.

The rooms were tidy and well heated, the staff were courteous. However, the food was not very hygienic looking so we didn’t try it. The property was undergoing renovation but that didn’t impact our stay. Good hotel for the price and close to the underground station.

Had a very nice stay, staff is so nice and caring, clean room with more amenities than expected given the price, breakfast included, everything perfect. If you’re looking to stay around London Bridge while tight on budget, City London Hotel is the place to go !

Great hotel, friendly helpful staff. Excellent location within easy reach of places of interest and close to tube connection to rest of London. A variety of pubs & restaurants nearby. Definitely stay here again.

At home feel! Staff is amazing!
Warmest welcome ever! From the moment we stepped foot in the hotel we were greeted in the nicest way by the staff and owners. This hotel is one of those places that goes the extra mile in making sure you feel right at home. I traveled with my teenagers and my husband and we all felt the love and appreciation. From the warm cup of green tea to the cookies and the smile. We were very thankful since we had a long traveling night. The hotel is being remodeled and bathrooms were so nice and new! They went above and beyond making us feel comfortable.

Friendly Staff and Nice Room
Very friendly and helpful staff when I checked in. The place was very clean as was the room. I only needed the room to sleep but it was very good value and close to my office. A fridge, iron and ironing board were supplied, as was a kettle and tea and coffee. The bed was comfortable and en suite just the right size. Nice and quiet. Will try to book here again next time I’m in London.

Fantastic service, and reasonably priced.
I could only fault one thing about the hotel and even that wasn't major, friendly staff, well appointed rooms, however the bed was a little lumpy. Not so bad as to ruin my stay but I was a little restless during the night as a result.

I chose this hotel b ased on its proximity to where I had an early meeting. The staff were friendly and helpful and my room (although small) was clean. I loved the touch of some fruit and delicious biscuits in my room. I had a fridge too - something some hotels at double the price don't provide. Bottled water also welcome. I appreciated the user-friendly TV. I did not like the lack of central heating and reliance on the drying and unpleasant blast of a conventional air conditioner set on a high temperature. (This may prove welcome in the summer though.)

Pros: - Excellent staff and service. Some of the nicest and most helpful I've encountered. Kept offering fruit, tea, water, juices whenever they saw us and checking to see that we had all we needed. Fixed a small problem with the shower head immediately. - Great location and convenient neighborhood with lots of food, drink, and transportation options. - Very good rates, all things considered. Cons: - Rooms and bathrooms are very small and cramped (and we were in a a double en suite, one of the 'larger' rooms). - Neighborhood gets noisy on the weekend, late into the night and early morning. Thin walls and windows means you hear everything outside. Overall a perfectly nice stay and we'll worth the price, but be aware of the caveats.

The room we had was as they say compact and bijou. It had a double bed, which was up against one wall, so getting in and out meant crawling across or down the bed. Limited shelving area and desk area if you wants to work. The walls are a bit thin can hear other people, and despite two sets of windows you could also hear noise from the street outside. Those are the negatives, on the positive, free bottles of water both in the room and extra in reception, free fresh fruit put in the room on arrival, a kettle and markings, biscuits again in the room and reception and a really nice to have a fridge, so you can keep fresh milk if you want. There is a lift to all floors, which helps for those less able. The hotel is not far from either Elephant and Castle or Lambeth North, it is within 20 minute walking to St Stevens Tower now Elizabeth's Tower even for someone with a walker. We didn't make use of their breakfast offer £10 I think that is per person. Would I stay there again yes

Arrived at the hotel no record of my booking either at the hotel or Hotels.com... I was told to come back later and see if they have a room free. I had booked and paid for my room 3 months before my visit. Also I was told breakfast was at 7.30 the cook eventually got my breakfast cooked and on the table for 8.10am. I never ate it due to the poor quality.

Lovely welcome from hosts, lovely touches with water, sweets and biscuits on arrival and check out. Walkable from Waterloo and to the tube. We just needed a bed for a gig, and it's everything we needed. Decent sized single beds, radiators, fan, tea & coffee facilities. No real noise distractions. Can't fault it at all for our purpose :)

Great location, 10mins ish from 2 different tube stations, and plenty of bus route options within a few mins walk. Staff were excellent, free water in the room and reception was a nice touch when out for long days. Can't fault the hotel at all.

A good value option centrally
From the outside it didn’t seem to promise much - but inside it’s quirky and charming. A colourful and comfortable lobby - complete with bowls of complementary sweets and fruit. Room was on the small side but plenty for me just me with bottled water and a generous supply of mil, sugar a, two and cuddles
