In the city centre, Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington is in London's London City Centre neighbourhood, a walkable area with good shopping. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, while Kensington Palace and Royal Albert Hall are cultural highlights. Our guests appreciate the hotel's convenience for public transport: High Street Kensington Station is 4 minutes by foot and Earl's Court Station is 15 minutes.
I booked on location, that's the best feature and being a 4 star hotel. This is most definitely a 4 star hotel, although having booked a standard room on company/business travel, room was lacking the basics. A heater that hardly warmed up the room, even on full settings after 20 minutes as instructed. Nothing complimentary in the room, not even water. Fitness suite was tiny and could barely fit more than 2 - 3 persons in with a rower that doesn't work and left rusting in the corner, taking up precious floor space. I ended up running up several flights of stairs to get a workout. Breakfast was disappointing, I had croissants that tasted synthetic and felt dated. The tinned fruit was insult and could have paid a fraction for breakfast by purchasing fresh fruit from the local supermarket. Some staff pleasant on the counter, lacking in welcoming and a basic smile would be nice. I felt a little nauseous in my cold, stuffy room one evening and phoned the night reception, appalled at his lack of empathy and inability to help and even provide a basic drink. Other than stating it costs £300 for a doctor to visit, I was not helped at all. I am just fortunate that It was no more than a chill and an upset stomach. I will not be staying at this hotel or recommending to others.
