I have no idea where the negative ratings come from it was probably our best stay in Lincoln City after many years and numerous hotels.... The office staff was very friendly.. I don't need to put helpful cause there were no issues , I booked the cottage there before i read the comments, The whole drive from salem to there i was regretting it , So we got there to check in and the gentleman that did our info was totally awesome, I was thinking ok great so far , So we went into our cottage and i thought wow and smiled at my wife at that time i was trying to find a negative and i couldn't and most importantly my wife loved everything about it... The kitchen, The breath taking view , The bedroom and comfy of the bed and a perfect dresser for our clothes .. Not to mention how clean it was ..My moment came so i took out my laptop and hooked up the WiFi and went to my poker site where i play Texas hold em and streamed live Major League baseball, There was no issue it streamed excellent.... I definitely would recommend this place.. it's a hidden treasure.

Book the deluxe cottage! This place is fantastic! I stayed here many years ago and booked the deluxe 2 bedroom cottage for this trip to celebrate my mom’s retirement. Wow it was worth the slight up charge for the deluxe room my only regret is not staying here longer. The views are absolutely incredible perched high on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The living room with fireplace, kitchen, dining room, and one of the large bedrooms have panoramic views of the ocean. Not sure if all of the cottages are similar or have the same features but ours was amazing! The historic cottages have been well maintained and ours was very clean and smelled nice inside, I loved the vintage light fixtures and hardware. Very spacious accommodations and great value for this size feels more like a house than a cottage. Staff were friendly and pet fees were very reasonable. My family was extremely happy to stay here and we will absolutely be back.

I had been driving for a long time. I was tired and fatigued. Check in was at 4pm.. about 4 to 5 hour wait for me. They knew nothing of this. I asked if it was possible to check in a little earlier.. they quickly replied and said that I could check in when ever I liked.. other places that I stayed were no where near being as accommodating. This kindness bounced them to the top of my list. I will start there again.

Loved the fireplace for heating. Great ocean view. The ocean is loud - if you like that noise, easy to sleep through. The office isn’t always open - made it a bit harder to check in, there is a key drop box to check out if you leave before 10:00am.

Great ocean views! Beds were comfortable, TV was clear and had multiple channels, walk down hill to beach. We did not use the kitchen. Shower was small but not a problem. Would stay here again

Worked for what we wanted but could of had more things such as towels, coffee, and garbage bags. The walk to the beach was ok for us but would have been disappointed if I had brought my mom and dad as I normally do. Should have said a rough walk to the beach access.

I arrived late because I didn't get off work until late when we arrived we couldn't find our room.when I did it was down 3 Flights of stairs mind you I'm disabled and so this was very hard to unload my things so we parked at the top of the stairs to unload.while we were unloading the police came to our door. Saying the manager called them because we were blocking him from leaving so if course we moved right away again it was 1 am so I didn't think that it would have been a problem to park there moving on to my next issue the bathroom toilet barely flushed there was some fan noise in the bathroom and bedroom that stayed one the whole time it was so loud.the shower was awful no shower head it was either extremely hot or freezing cold there were dogs above us barking all day long .I didn't complain because I have dogs and the room was a pet friendly room so I expected it and the views were amazing and I was having a good time much needed it was my birthday and honestly just didn't want to hassle with or have something ruin my trip.so ok on checkout were having coffee packing up and I get a call at 11 mind you again when I talked to the front desk when I checked he said I could have a 12 pm check out which I didn't even ask for but thought was nice but whoever called said we had to get out and that they had problems with us all weekend I was very confused because I never was talked to about anything while I was there he said our dogs barked all night long which wasn't true

This property might be older but they keep it clean and tidy for the guests. The office doesn’t open until 10am which isn’t convenient, but otherwise we had a very good stay. The beds were very comfortable, the fireplace kept us warm and once the water heated up (which took quite awhile), it was a nice hot shower.

This motel is in a lovely location; perched on a cliff above the ocean. Rooms could use some updating, but the view snd fresh air made up for these minor issues.

Love this place have been here twice and I love the space ,and the fact that they allow dogs in the cottages is amazing. Only thing I dislike is the shower, for being over $200 a night the least they can fix is the shower head.

Lovely views. Check in was easy and the staff was very welcoming. The room was not the one we chose on Expedia with the fireplace facing the surf. They have a sign in the lobby stating you can no longer request specific cottages anymore. It was still quite spacious and dog friendly. When we were unpacking, we found a dirty towel and clothing behind a couch. The stove had old food spills inbetween the counter and oven. I don't think it's being pulled out to clean. There were no dish rags or sponges, we requested some from the front who were nice. There's salt, pepper and dishes for 4. Just the basics and that's fine. I wanted to tell them at check out about the issues we had in total, but the front desk was very busy on calls, took my keys and thanked me for staying and went back to their call before i could say anything. I think we just hit the Ester Lee at a bad time. We loved staying there in the past but dirty clothing and food stuck to appliances was frustrating.

The cottage my wife and I stayed in had an eerie almost horror movie feeling nothing has been updated since we probably the 1970s definitely was not what we expected. My wife says. well the tv bed and chairs are updated. Id mention the heater no clean big enough mirror to see your self in that are clown mirrors distorting your face as you move.

The view was amazing. These cabins are very old and individually owned. So each may be different. Ours was somewhat run down inside. The reason I gave it such a low rating was the boiler was not working. So, we didn't have heat and it was very cold ( 41° outside) No reduction offered in price. It could have been cleaner too. Made me sad because I have wanted to stay here for so many years. They look so charming outside ( I'm sure many are on the inside too)

Loved sitting by the fire and the view first of all. Then for just a basic motel room it had everything we needed in a refrigerator, microwave, table and chairs, comfy chairs to read in and a place to warm water for tea.

It was great being right by the ocean. we could hear the waves all night which was soothing. they were not terribly loud but noticeable

The motel is very old. The room was not what we chose when we booked. The guy at the counter was very grumpy and not friendly at all. The office was locked up still at 10am the morning we checked out and we had to leave the movies we rented the night before and the keys in the room when we left. Probably not a redo.

I am sorry you stay was less then pleasant. The decor is meant to look that way as that is the charm of the hotel that satisfies many of our long standing and returning clientele. For future reference, there is indeed an afterhours key drop right next to the office door,

That was indeed a cottage. It was a single queen cottage. We have bigger cottages such as 1 or 2 bedroom cottages that could possibly suite your needs better. Thank you for staying with us!
