Could not find any fault with this hotel. Extremely efficient and friendly, from reception to restaurant staff. Facilities are excellent and our accommodation was immaculate. Fantastic evening and breakfast menu’s.

Fantastic stay at the Hillthwaite.

Fantastic stay for three nights from checking in to checking out nice rooms and comfy beds nice bathroom rooms tidy every day great,very relaxing hotel,Staff couldn’t be more helpful nothing to much bother,Food in restaurant was very good,served in a nice atmosphere. pool and sauna a bonus used twice when we stayed.We will be staying there again next time, would recommend.

Great stay, staff were really friendly and offered lots of help with local area. Rooms were very spacious with unbelievable views of the lake and surrounding area. Dinner and breakfast was also great, cannot fault the hotel.

Cracking spot

Warm welcome, impressive but small bar and dining room. Fabulous west facing terrace for sundowners. Compact, but clean and nicely furnished room, modern shower room. Cracking location, 5 mins walk to both Windermere and Bowness.

Fantastic from start to finish. Warm welcome from the front desk who like us has traveled an love South Africa. Evening meals I would highly recommend eating in. The lamb an steak we had were cook to perfection along with a first class waiting service. Easy to see why the reviews are fantastic! Thank you for a wonderful stay. Mr & Mrs Harkness

Christmas shopping break

We were very impressed with this hotel. Would definitely recommend it and will be staying again. It was a short walk into Windermere or Bowness and so a perfect base for both. The room was immaculate and nothing was too much trouble for the amazing staff.

Wonderful weekend

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. Room was comfortable & clean . Food very good & all staff very friendly & helpful. Breakfast in the bay window with views overlooking the lake set us up for a wonderful day walking . Would definitely stay again.

Fabulous relaxing stay

We had a fabulous relaxing stay at The Hillthwaite Hotel.. The room was comfortable & well decorated ( occasion room with veiw towards the lake) although a little on the smaller size.. and only a 5ft bed. The staff made us feel so welcome .. they are all so attentive & polite ( including the hotel manager) .. and service was smooth and organised .. we thought the option to pre order dinner was an excellent idea and meant our food was served without any delays.. in the well apointed dining area's ( with lovely veiws) We enjoyed the use of the pool & sauna each day of our 3 night stay We very much look forward to a return visit in the future

Jubilee bank holiday

I booked this hotel last minute for a 3 night stay with my partner and our 2 yr old dog Murphy . We found the staff extremely helpful from the moment we arrived our dog was very spoilt and was made to feel very welcome. The room was basic but very comfortable and clean we only booked a classic room so we were more than happy . The bed was large and very comfortable. The breakfast and evening meal were lovely and the staff in the restaurant were very obliging. I wouldn't hesitate booking this hotel again if I was in the area . The hotel is approx a 15 minute walk from the shops but I enjoyed the walk into the town it was nice to return to the tranquillity of the hotel as the town was quite busy due to the bank holiday. A perfect location and very pleasant stay thankyou to all the lovely staff especially the lovely lady on the reception desk!

The location was great, centered between the lacke side and upper town side. Vies are stunning and the interior decoration of lounges are beautiful. Unfortunately, the bed for me was not as cofortable as i wanted, struggled to sleep every night. Thank you
