Room is big if compare to same grade hotel in Tokyo, staffs are nice, quite cheap and just located opposite of the station, you can reach a new and big shopping mall by crossing the road, shopping area just next to the hotel

A reliable hotel with kind and helpful staff
I have to thank the manager of the hotel who has provided assistance to us as my wife was having fever during our stay. He kindly arranged the transportation and coordinated with the hospital nearby. My wife recovered quickly during the trip and I have to say that the kindness and helpfulness of the staff is a paramount credit to the hotel! Thank you so much!

The location is ideal. The room is clean. No carpark available although we booked cause we thought there was one. Hotel staff told us to park somewhere nearby and gave us a voucher for a discounted price for parking.

Excellent location. Mall adjacent to Hotel. Plenty of choices for food. As I have planned to visit Takachiho , the Bus stop is directly opposite the Hotel.

Very convenient
You can get a tram from JR station and the tram stops right in front of the hotel. There's a walking street next door and tram that brings you downtown. Receptionists speaks English and helpful.

Great location; front desk service could improve
Super close to Kumamoto castle and downtown (and its biggest shopping street), this hotel is wonderful in terms of location, as it was only 1 minute on foot from the airport shuttle stop, and right in front of the hotel there's a tram stop. Tons of convenience stores and 24 hour restaurants literally downstairs. However, service at the hotel seemed a bit sub-par as check-in was absolutely awful. Front desk spoke extremely limited English and insisted that we had to pay for our stay (even though we already paid in full). Turns out they retrieved the wrong guest listing. I had to spend a lot of time pulling up my credit card records and hotels.com records to show them that they're wrong. Unlike other Japanese hotels which I've stayed in where you're greeted when returning at night, here the staff ignores you or turn their gaze away, which I thought was super weird. Plus, they didn't provide any assistance whatsoever to showcase what you can do in Kumamoto, not even a map. Presumably this is a business hotel, that's why. However, housekeeping is wonderful with great room amenities (down to a shower cap, which isn't always provided) and kept the room spotlessly clean. If I were to return to Kumamoto and manage to find a hotel with similar price/accessibility, I am quite sure I would not stay here again.

Room size big for a 3 star Japanese business hotel
Rooms were much larger than the usual 3 star Japanese hotels that we had seen. Room size comfortable even for 2 people with luggage (2 suitcases), no need to squeeze past each other. Furniture, carpeting and bath fittings were cheap and tacky looking but layout and sizing well thought out, ergonomic and worked well for us. Car parking is 200m away in different building which is bit inconvenient. Counter staff spoke a little English but they tried their best to assist. No breakfast in hotel, there is restaurant in basement that serves Japanese or Western breakfast at JPY 1080, quite good.

This is the typical size of Japan's hotel! Not big at all! However, the location is really good just opposite to the tram station and next to the main shopping area!

hard, uncomfortable bed. super noisy area.
at first glance, perfect, clean room with all the amenities including toothbrush, alarm clock, bed lights, etc. but soon you will feel the hard bed, toss/turn in bed and wake with cramps. the hotel is right next to a crosswalk that loudly beeps when light turns green. even when not green, constant blaring of recorded message. the great annoyance goes on all day from around 7am to about 11pm. the place is also like the city center and political demonstrators will get on megaphone to annoy. lots of other traffic noise. can't open window due to all the noise.

Simple but comfortable
Room size was pretty good for Japan standards, with space to open both our luggages. Simmons Bed was very comfortable too. Other than these, room was simple but sufficient. Good location too, near lots of food and shops and Kumamoto castle. Only that driveway outside hotel was blocked by taxis and we had difficulty dropping off people and luggages.

Clean modern rooms. Good WiFi. Excellent location with a tram stop right outside and the city's main shopping arcade just around the corner. My front facing room had a bit of street noise. In particular the beeping of the pedestrian crossing. But it did turn off at around 10-11pm.

Hotel room so small with a tiny double bed.
Very small room as expected. Size of double bed can sleep only up to one adult and a very small child. However as opposed to the room rate it is a bargain.
