The location of the hotel is great, waterfront, close to Gaya Street Night Market and the Filipino Market, with a local mall across the street. No shortage of food options. If you’re going on excursions out of town, there’s easy pick up from this hotel. The buffet breakfast at the in-house restaurant is decent. My only issues, which have nothing to do with the hotel itself are: the men on every corner offering flyers for massages. It’s very annoying as it’s constant and second, the smell of rotted fish and stale gutter water that sweeps over the waterfront area. The smell comes with the territory of having fish markets close by but if someone is sensitive to smells it could be an issue so beware. The hotel is a nice refuge from all that, the staff is efficient, helpful and friendly.

The Klagan hotel is situated in a very prime location. It is closed to Filipino market, central market, restaurants and bar, Suria Sabah (shopping mall), and Jesselton Point/Jetty. The check in and check out was smooth and pleasant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel provides compliment parking to hotel guests and you just need to validate the parking ticket with the reception before exit. The room key was used toaccess to the car park. The breakfast was good for 3 star hotel and what I enjoyed the most is the view from the breakfast restaurant. We were placed on the 7th floor and the room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet during the night even our window was facing the main street. The amenities was good and the bathroom was spacious and newly renovated. Highly recommend the Klagan Hotel to those travel to Kota Kinabalu.

Conveniently located, within walking distance to most places in town. Staffs are prompt to request. We had problems with the drainage system in the bathroom and it was fixed immediately. There is a little of wear and tear in the room but overall it was a good stay.

Breakfast was not to bad. Could be better. It is centrally located in the city centre and getting around is fairly easy. Pillows could be better too but for the price, pretty worth it

Excellent location. Right beside Centre Point Shopping Mall and within 5 mins of the sea front, the night market, the street market and the front sea entertainment bar stretch. Check in and out was slick. All the staff were really helpful. The room was great & spacious with a brilliant bathroom and had everything we needed and more. Breakfast was better than other Asian hotels but it is geared to the Asian market ( as London hotels are geared to the British market ) The receptionist even phoned and arranged a GRAB cab on her mobile to get us to the airport.

Lower your expectation but a good location hotel

Depends on luck and which room assigned. Room 735 was bad but 775 was good. Room 735 has bad shower fitting and flimy sliding toilet door. 775 was ok but too close to lift which means alot of disturbance due to traffic. Bad soundproof, outside people can hear you inside the room and you can hear them outside. No street view window. Breakfast food choices are very limited, overpriced if you need to pay RM40. Front desk service was good.
