The hotel is in good place, you can walk to lots of attractions places. There are alot of restaurants around and transport like tram, trains and buses. The reception is helpful if you want to get a taxis with reasonable prices to the airport. Musa the receptionists is very friendly and always helpful. Thx for the welcoming environment 🙂.

Staff was super friendly and really took great care of us the view from the room was spectacular of the Blue mosque also the sixth floor breakfast area also had the great view of the Blue mosque.

Wonderful Hotel
The corner room was spectacular with the Blue Mosque right outside our window. We loved the total experience. The hotel decor made us feel like we were staying in the Ottoman dynasty. The staff was fantastic, and we will stay there again in our next visit to Istanbul. Sarya and Adnan, two of the many hotel associates were great.

Perfect Experience.
Everything from booking with online discussions with Sarya was very helpful. Check-in went perfect with outstanding service from all staff. The hotel is beautiful and the view from the terrace restaurant was the BEST. Adnan, a hotel associate who went way beyond his job duties to help us must be recognized. Thanks for a wonderful Hotel experience.

The location is first rate. There are plenty of restaurants close by as well as public transportation to the bazaars and waterways. Lots of sites within walking distance - it couldn't have been better. The hotel is dated and worn. It is clean without question but I would say it is a travelers hotel. There is a nice selection of breakfast items and juices in a large dining room which was a plus. Staff was always helpful and an extra bonus is the luggage scale - great for the souviners we added to our baggage! I wouldn't say the AC was broken but felt more like a swap cooler in the rooms that a traditional AC. The weather was gorgeous and the windows open easily which turned out to be perfect for us!

Did not like No airconditiong in room. Safe broke down with passports in before leaving. King size bed had no bed sheets. Shower kind of crummy. Not fit to ever go back to.

Have you reported this situation to the reception? Was there no attempt to solve your problem? There is a central heating and cooling system in our hotel. During transition periods, some guests may want cold weather and some may want hot weather. Unfortunately, this is not a controllable situation. Central heating and cooling system is activated according to the weather conditions.best regrds

A good place to stay while exploring Istanbul, close to all the historical places , also staff is very helpful and good mannered, the cleaning lady was keeping our room tidy and clean . If you want to book any tours you can just go to the reception staff and they will sort you out . Worth staying.👍

The staff where rude and unhelpful.. The room is outdated and dirty. The AC and the room safe did not work. My door card failed to work every single day. I would not stay at that hotel again nor would I recommended it to anyone else.

We are very sorry for your bad experience. There is a laundry service in our hotel and it is subject to an extra fee. This is stated in all sales channels as well as in Hotels.com and expedia. It is also stated that there is no iron in the rooms. The authentic decoration of the rooms is quite evident in the photos. We have not received any complaints from any of our guests staying at the same time as you about the central air conditioner. If there was a technical problem with the air conditioner in your room and you had reported it to the reception, it would have been resolved.All other complaints will be considered and necessary action will be taken. We would like to welcome you again in our hotel.regards

The hotel has some advantages; close to the main tourists sights, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern etc, it is also near to the Tram Lime 1 stop. The breakfast area does provide great views and is perfect for photos. The down side for me is the noise for rooms above and to the side; very thin walls, you hear everything when people come in late, open and close door, every conversation, for that reason alone I won;t stay there again..

Location, location! The hotel is lactated near the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque and one block from the tram station. The Grand Bazaar is approximately an 8 minute walk away with plenty of shopping and restaurants near by.

Great location, the room was nice, beds comfy, water good, only issue was the fact there was no air conditioning, only heating and it was really warm and stuffy. The window did open for fresh air but that meant leaving the curtains open to the rooms across the street.

Nicely appointed, traditional hotel. Very clean, friendly and professional staff. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Best all was the view from both our room and the dining room. A million dollar view of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. Breathtaking.

Have stayed many times usually 2/3 times a year as location is great and always been reasonably happy this time I asked for a birthday cake for my husband it didn’t appear the woman said by email discuss with the front desk they knew nothing about it?? We asked them to get us a taxi to airport after having an experience with a taxi wanting to rip us off and the guy arranged his friend and agreed 250tl we had paid 180tl for airport direct to hotel on the meter, taxi fares went up in 1 Jan. The driver didn’t use the meter and was absolutely crazy amazed we landed at airport in one piece! Then he wanted 300tl after agreeing the price and refusing to use the meter . I know this goes on and no meter no argument which is what I said to the driver and gave him the agreed amount! Service was distinctly lacking this time maybe we have stayed too many times so will have a change next time.

Postives: 1) Location. This is the ideal location and I have been 3 times to Istanbul. 2) Room was ok, maybe a bit small but sufficient. was on 4th floor so view was ok as well. 3) staff was friendly including cleaning lady who came every day around 12-3pm. 4) 2 water bottles given every day. We used the fridge for our own milk and cola. 5) Weight scale in the lobby which was useful for the luggage. 6) view from the 6th floor (restaraunt/ breakfast. Negatives: 1) no Iron available. Have to use their laundry service apparently. 2) Breakfast is ok, they have a selection of things like cheeses, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, salads, cereals, small breads, biscuits, milk, tea and juices. So in that regard it is good. but the negative is that most of it is cold. Breakfast starts early(7:30) but we went at 8:00 and by then most of the hot stuff is lukewarm if that. They don't add anything hot along the way. 3) Tv. Some of the other places/hotels have some channels in English or international channels. There was none here (actually only Aljazeera international was in English). Now I understand most people may not watch TV when abroad, But all channels are in Turkish. So this is just a warning I think the Positives may outweigh the negatives. It sound like its pot luck with the rooms. Some people in the review may have got bad luck

It is in an excellent location and within few mins walk from Haggia Sofia, Sultan Ahmet mosque and Sultan Ahmet metro/tram station. The breakfast was awesome served on the top floor overlooking a stunning view of Istanbul landmarks. The rooms have the Ottoman style interior, clean and the bed was excellent, the staff were very helpful with any quesions I have. I will use the same facility if I ever visit Istanbul in the future.

I have trouble writing reviews. The hotel is a very good 4 star hotel. That is, when compared to other 4 star hotels, the Golden Horn is in the top group of their competition. After reading other reviews, I began thinking I chose unwisely. So, this review is an”anti-review”. There were many unkind reviews of the staff. We never encountered any issues. We were always treated properly, and everyone was very helpful. We ran into one major non hotel issue. The staff was extraordinary helpful. Our room was excellent, and was cleaned daily and well. The room was always tidy. Contrary to many reviews, we saw no mold. Reviews indicated that the hotel is a bit run down. We saw none of this. The hotel is very well maintained. Much criticism has been made about their breakfasts. The breakfast was a far better than average Turkish breakfast buffet. It didn’t contain many items that you would find in a breakfast buffet at a four star buffet in Kansas. However, we weren’t in Kansas anymore. Many salads, excellent yogurts, olives, cheeses, cold cuts, sweets, good coffee, decent juice, cereals, breads—look at the pictures from of the buffet from the hotel. They are accurate. Biggest negative was dinner. We were tired and the weather was rainy so we went to the hotel’s restaurant. Over half of the choices were unavailable. Drinks were canned. As they do not serve alcohol, we expected kinds of fresh juices. Cold drinks were canned. Finally, the views of city are extraordinary!!

All our rooms have soundproof double glazing. Our hotel is on the cistern and only vehicles coming to the hotel can stop in front of the hotel. When the window is opened, there is no sound other than this noise. Voices of other guests in the corridor can also be heard inside the hotel. I will share your message with our hotel owners, so they can reconsider if new measures can be taken. We would like to welcome you again in our hotel.
