I was bitten by a bed bug prior to my first night in the room on the ground floor. Found a bed bug on my pillow. Brought it to the receptionist, he was kind enough to upgrade my room and changed my room, also did apologised for the inconvenience caused. However, it’d definitely be better if there isn’t any bed bugs at all.

Beautiful heritage building, but problems
A beautifully renovated/repurposed UNESCO heritage building located in the heart of historic old town. Lovely, friendly staff. Spacious rooms. Modest breakfast buffet but no other meals served. Major, possibly fatal flaw is a severe infestation of bedbugs both in my original highest priced superior room and in the second room I was moved to on another floor. When I left early for another hotel, Vinh Hung paid for a taxi but would not issue a refund for the remaining prepaid night.

Nice, but not great 🐱‍🐉
Vinh Hung has multiple properties in Hoi An. We stayed in the Old town at VH Heritage. It's beautiful, but age means many quirks for instance no shoes up to guest rooms (minor thing), the floors creak with every step, bath tub not shower. The staff were all pleasant, but unable to accomodate later check out or allow staff dinner on day of check out (and didn't even offer that for first night we arrived). We did walk over to VH RIverside to swim - really nice pool and more modern facility.

This was a unique hotel in a great location. Excellent position for shopping and sight seeing. But the location has its disadvantages. It is particularly noisy early in the morning from around 5am and again after 9.30 at night. This is when the street is open to bikes and the odd rubbish truck. Also there is no sound deadening in the upstairs rooms so everything in the kitchen and lobby entrance comes through around 6am onwards. And there is no swimming pool. But if you want heritage and olde worlde feel, then this is a must. But not for me.

Incredible place / Incredible location
Incredibly beautiful place in the heart of old town. Lots of free amenities and wonderful staff. As mentioned by others the bathtub does not have a stand up shower but rather a shower nozzle that extends from the tub. Because of this you have to sit or squat in the tub which I didn't mind but others might if they have mobility issues.
