Great Room - shame about the food
The room at the hotel was really nice and clean - and very comfortable indeed, however, the food and service in the pub were not so good - its been a while i've come across such an insincere waitress - and the good was no better the a transport cafe.......very disappointing

The bar restaurant was lovely and very friendly and great atmosphere but the service at the hotel wasn’t great to be honest and the room was dangerously hot and when we said about it we got told to open a window and give it a while and the bar had shut and we asked if maybe we could get a bottle of Prosecco to our room it was made clear and slightly rude there was no chance

Great Value Stay
I recommend to stay here for a overnight, a big improvement was that better WiFi was installed so you can get onto the internet. The phone reception isn’t the best as is 4G (On o2) The room is fit for purpose and the bathroom is brilliant, the waterfall shower, amazing. For me, the area and how much hotels are around this Harlow area, this is hands down the best value for money. I would say though if you have a good budget on expenses then you may not want to eat here. Please know the food is lovely but it is expensive and the drinks are circa £6 a pint and £8+ for a large wine. I will definitely stay again when I’m in the area though.

Well appointed rooms, simple and straightforward. reception helpful and nice pub adjoining - everything you need - just check the thermo on your radiator isnt switched off - I forgot to do that and woke up freezing.

Stayed at the Greenman for one night and ate at the restaurant. All staff were very pleasant and attentive. Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. My only room criticism is that the lighting could have been better as it seemed a little dark even with all the side lights on. The restaurant food was just average but the table service was very good.

The Green Man Pub.
A very nice place to stay when catching early flights from Stanstead Airport. A very nice typical English Country Pub serving excellent food and a very good choice of beer. Clean and comfortable room.

Fabulous stay
Spotlessly clean, and a lovely room, my only negative, and I understand it’s personal choice, the pillows were a bit hard for me. Again breakfast was fabulous, really good choice and well cooked, except, my ‘smashed’ avocado wasn’t smashed because it was too under ripe and hard. Two small things, did make a little difference but not enough to stop us going again. Looking forward to our next stay.

We stayed in a “business” room which was beautifully decorated and had a very comfy bed. It was a hot day, so a fan would have been great (no air con). Didn’t have any food so can’t comment on that.

Nice spot well located for London and Stansted. Quieter part of Harlow. Met some lovely senior gentlemen long resident in Old Harlow. Lots of stories. Nicely finished accommodation but tap in room was very loose.

Green Man is an average Hotel/Pub Restaurant.
The Green Man is an average Hotel/Pub Restaurant. The Rooms are generally comfortable, though it was hit and miss whether it was 'made-up' daily and restocked with Teas/Coffee's etc. Although not the Hotels fault per se, there did appear on several occasions where other guest, at very unsociable hours, seemed to have to 'Slam' room Doors shut which made the entire corridor shudder! Maybe the door self-closing mechanisms could be adjusted, or a simple sign to suggest guest are more considerate. My stay was for 5 weeks, you would perhaps expect the staff to begin to recognise you around the property, but only a few seemed to make any efforts to make you feel welcome, especially after the amount of money my company was paying for the accommodation, and also the dinning of an evening on top. A smile goes a long way! Breakfast, always something miss or not available from the menu, I did offer to pop in Tesco on the way back one evening if that would help! :) Very dependant which Chef was on, varied with the quality and presentation of the food. Evening meals were similar to the above, and on certain occasions there was a lack of staff to service the amount of people dinning. There did seem to be a small discount for Hotel guests, however it only was ever applied by one young lady, when I questioned this to another Waitress the Manger retracted this offer! Nice location Good access to M11/Stansted Airport

Hotel is clean and has a good atmosphere. Hotel rooms have been recently refurbished and therefore in good condition. Evening meal was average but the breakfast was good. Will stop again and would recommend.

Hotel and room was lovely didn’t have any extra pillows when we asked and we paid for breakfast and the first morning it was lovely full cooked breakfast and tables all laid out but when we went down for breakfast on Christmas Day and Boxing Day no cooked breakfast very poor continental not worth putting out no tables laid has to ask hue serviettes would have been nice to have them laid up for Christmas morning and they didn’t even tell us but apparently no cooked breakfast on Christmas Day and Boxing Day very poor service staff was rude when asked for anything

I did not spend that much time at the property though. There was evidence of ongoing construction work. But much seemed pleasing to me.
