This apartment was right there n the middle of it all and a straight walk up from the train station! It was clean and cozy for our family of four and a perfect respite from a hotel in the middle of our UK holiday.

Disappointed in quality
The pictures do not accurately reflect what we showed up to. The bathroom had what looked like mold and dirty. The shower flooded and lifted something gross we've never seen before, and the water was temperamental and either scolding hot/ice cold. The check-in to get the keys was not good. The key was not inside the box and we were locked out. We tried multiple phone numbers and sent an email, not one response. We got in after waiting an hour for someone to walkout. Also left inside was other peoples empty water bottles and wet rags. It was a great location along the Royal Mile but needs work or honest description.

Fantastic location. Alleyway was a little scary so when we first arrived we were dubious. The stairs were a nightmare to get up with luggage but the apartment was fabulous.

Had a brief problem with the water heater and heat that we didn’t find till late in the evening so we didn’t have any hot water that night. Luckily they helped us the next day and got us fixed right up

Great location
The apartment we stayed in was in a great location. It is close to the old town, and had a Sainsbury's and coffee shop downstairs. However, picking up the key and walking to the apartment wasn't the easiest with suitcases in tow. Would certainly recommend the apartment.

Not for the fainthearted - The Worst
DO NOT Rent From These People! (Silver Lining is the worst) First of all the place we booked was not the place featured in the ad. There are 11 flights of stairs and no lift. The apartment has issues. Most importantly the key retrieval process is absurd. In the ad the only address they give you turns out to be a closed office in which we had no way of knowing until we got there. We had to take a taxi with 3 children and 5 suitcases once we got dropped off we realized the office was closed with no forwarding information. After 2 hours of wasting 5 peoples time .…. I was able to meet the neighbor who stated that this happens to people all the time he gave me the afterhour’s phone was not answered immediately I had to call back 3 times. The guy who I spoke with on the phone was very flippant rude he insisted I did not read the check-in instructions properly. Little did he understand that I had no way to retrieve my emails there was no cell service. We had to take another taxi to the apartment. Regarding the apartment itself the shower handle was broken you could hardly turn on the water to take a shower. There was mold in the bathroom. The 11 flights of stairs were dirty, scuffed, with trash and beer bottles. The blinds fell off in one of the bedrooms, some of the windows would not stay opened it was very hot. The wood floors were worn gauged and scratched up. The dining room table was worn out with big chips of paint missing from the chairs bad bad bad

Great old town stay
This was a great choice for our family vacation. The location was wonderful, right near the grassmarket area. Many great pubs and shopping nearby. The checkin was easy. The apartment had everything we needed. People renting should be aware the apartment is on the top floor, which means the views were great, but there was a long climb up the stairs (Including luggage); it's about 5 floors. Good exercise, but not for people who are mobility impaired or have small children. We had teen and older kids so it was fine. It was a great base to explore the city.
