Perfect stay in proper "home from home" hotel
This is a beautiful small hotel in a fabulous location. But the staff and attention to making your stay amazing is what makes the hotel so special. The breakfasts are feasts - cooked to order with excellent choices and with lots of fruit, yoghurt and cereal as well. Our room was extremely comfortable with a superb view. Not a sound to be heard at night. We have stayed in many hotels over the years in the Lake District and have now found the one we will return to. I'd also like to come back in the winter and enjoy the wood fires, reading in the gorgeous sitting room, looking out at the view.

The dinner was overpriced however the breakfasts were good. No lift and we had a loft room, unsafe bathroom for oldies.

A delightful stay
The inside of this country home was just delightful. Loved our stay - the staff, the food, the beautiful views. Lots of thought has gone into guest conveniences and extra touches that made our stay great. The bedrooms are not big but there are a couple of lounges and a good drinks selection that we enjoyed. I would return anytime!

Idyllic Spot
Couple stayed for 2 nights, highly professional, extremely friendly and accommodating team, facilities kept in good order, breakfast appropriately award winning will definitely take advantage of dinner service on our next stay. Hotel situated on quiet west side of Windermere overlooking a beautiful unspoilt private water. Team is first class for professionalism, competence and sense of humour. Why would anyone not choose this jewel in the area?

Fantastic place and staff. Very recommended
The building itself is very nice and located in amazing grounds with a lovely view of the lake. All staff are very attentive, kind and accommodating especially with dietary requirements. The food is also excellent.Would highly recommend this to anyone and we will for sure be returning

From the time of arriving to leaving, this hotel delivered 5 star service. The beautiful decor, the cosy lounges with the log fires, enjoying tea and scones in the afternoon and a bottle of wine in the evening. All the staff were amazing … so welcoming and friendly. Really glad we booked dinner . It was perfect , definitely 5 star….. and then the fabulous breakfast in the morning. A wonderful gem of a place to stay… such a peaceful and tranquil setting with amazing views . Will definitely return and will recommend to all friends!

If you like a country house hotel, this is for you. Lovely rooms, wonderful views. Chef/Patron Richard looks to cook great food without pretension. Hence the regular awards for good food in the dining room. The staff were excellent without exception. Wonderful views acrossLake Etterthwaite with ospreys nesting on opposite bank. Visit the cafe across the lake from the hotel to see the chicks on the live camera feed. Only 2 miles from the Hawkshead side of the Windermere ferry. However if coming from the Coniston end stay on the B5285 and ignore the sat nAv if you want to avoid some narrow roads.

The breakfast was fabulous and the availability of an evening meal was really good. The bed was very comfortable; lovely sheets and bedding. Some remedial work is required in the bathroom it is looking tired. Wi-fi did not work in the room, which meant the extra channels on the TV were not available- so disappointing. The phone signal was poor so wi- fi would have been really useful. A very relaxing stay.

Beautiful settings and FANTASTIC food and Staff
This place is set in a beautiful setting very close to Hill top. You drive down a little track to this lovely country house, we had a lovely welcome and were able to check in early which was a bonus. We stayed in the sunshine room which had two huge windows with amazing views. The room had everything you needed and the Sherry was a nice touch. The breakfast was FANTASTIC! You eat breakfast in the back room with windows all around to see the view and there are plenty of choices on offer for you to eat, I only wish I could have eaten more. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely fabulous location - some nice walks from the doorstep. Nice room (Blue) with stunning views across the hills and down to Esthwaite Water. Superb breakfasts and dinners. Can highly recommend this hotel.

A beautiful spot for exploring the local Lakeland area. We couldn’t fault our hosts for the friendliness and quality of service. We had a lovely room with a fantastic view over Esthwaite Water and surrounding hills.

Lovely location with friendly and helpful staff
This was our second stay at Ees Wycke. Beautiful location with away from crowds and close to wonderful walking locations. Very comfortable rooms and lounges. Staff made us feel at home and were helpful suggesting and arranging eating locations and the best sightseeing. Even offering to drive us to where we wanted to go. Had a wonderful meal in house on one night and the breakfasts were perfect with plenty of variety. We look forward to revisiting Ees Wycke

Lake District stay
Lovely location very near Hill top. Room was spacious and comfortable. Lots of little extras cotton buds, sewing kit,plasters,water and sherry. Breakfast was varied porridge with cream and whisky,croissants,fresh fruit plus cooked breakfast. Welcome was warm and genuine. Would recommend

Excellent staff, great wifi, large room, powerful shower, lovely breakfast, and amazing lake and mountain views. Local pub only 5 mins walk...lovely food. Close to Hawkshead and many walks close by available. Would certainly recommend!
