Wow! I had a fantastic time staying at the Sivatel. Actually, this is my new standard for what I will think of as a 5-star experience.
The room was perfectly clean, very chic, and had a great view of the city lights. The bathroom was spacious, too, with a choice of rainfall showerhead or a big bath for a relaxed soak. The room was quiet, and the bed comfortable, for a delicious rest after a day's adventures.
The breakfast buffet was expansive; I wished I'd had enough room to try everything. And the menu changed daily, offering new goodies to try. The poolside outdoor dining was really nice. The pool was also a nice place to unwind and watch the sun go down.
I was particularly impressed with the concierge service. The concierge staff was attentive, pleasantly inquiring about plans for the day, offering tips for transportation or help arranging a ride if needed. I don't know how they remember everyone they talk to, but each time I was greeted I felt like a well-known regular. On my last morning, I had to leave around 6:00 AM for a day-trip to Ayutthaya. Prissy, the concierge, had the foresight (before me, even!) to note that I wouldn't be able to use the buffet, so she offered to have a breakfast packed for me. As promised, a delightful brown bag meal was waiting for me when I headed out for the excursion.
I would be delighted to stay again.
