"Pretty much the best part of our room was that the door locked and we had hot water. The ice machine didn’t work because it was outside, we had a nice brown stain on our window curtain, another yellowish stain on one of the pillowcases, the tile between the carpet and the sink was cracked and could’ve easily cut one of our feet, the chair in the corner was very dirty, a lot of the items in the bathroom were not secured to the wall. ". There’s a lot to love here — great location, a nice pool, and a charming boutique feel. But two things seriously undercut the experience: staff attitude and a sneaky parking charge.
The front desk staff come across as indifferent at best, unwelcoming at worst — not what you want when you’re checking into a hotel. They’ve also added a maintenance/security/pool hybrid who spends most of his time sitting around the office with a puppy, contributing little beyond dragging the vibe down further....

"This was such a nice stay! I’m local to Scottsdale, and wanted a little staycation after a lot of work travel, so I landed on the Sonesta Gainey Ranch. I stayed 5 nights. I’m so glad I did! This place exceeded my expectations. I work in UNHW travel and this place is on par with hotels that are much more expensive. The room was so nice, and it really was like a little apartment.
