Day tour to the Mayan Ruins of Copan. Heritage of the world since 1980.

This full-day tour starts at your San Pedro Sula hotel at 5:00am, that way You´ll have plenty of time to enjoy the experience.. Around 7:00am, will be stopped for delicious breakfast, you can enjoy the local flavors in La Entrada, Copán. Later, You´ll take a short drive around 15 min, to visit the first site named: El Puente Archeological Site. (Puente = Bridge). This place worked as a trade center in the peak of the mayan culture.

After the introduction to the mayan world, next place to visit is the main site of the Mayan Ruins of Copan, considered Heritage of the World since 1980 by the Unesco, by it´s beauty and unique detailed architecture. You can explore the area. Walk around, and admire the intricate carvings on the stelaes, sculptures and structures. You´ll learn how they developed the skills for carving the stone, to applied techniques for the agriculture, and the astronomy.

After the visit to the park, You can enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant where you can find many delicious options of the local cuisine (own expense).

As optional activity, you can support the project of the Macaw Mountain Bird Park, they work to protect the Scarlet Macaw, the national bird of Honduras and simbol of beauty for the Mayans. That´s why, You´ll see them fly around the town and specially at the main site of the mayan ruins.

Before the returning to the city, You´ll have time to enjoy your, favorite cold beverage or a nice cup of the best coffee in Honduras.
