"A break in journey between Bilbao & Javea, also our 51st anniversary. I told the hotel of this and there was a bottle of good cava chilling in our room and red ‘flower petals’ scattered on the floor. I had expected a charge but there wasn’t. Three weddings were being celebrated that day so lots of excitement but zero inconvenience or disturbance. I was a little concerned that the Castillo effect might be a bit tacky but it is a tremendous atmosphere, with grandeur and attention to detail. Dinner was great, staff lovely, especially Elizabeth in the dining hall What more can I say other than I look forward to my next visit ! "

"Hotel was nice and clean. Not much around in terms of restaurants. Easy and quick taxi ride into town but not walking distance. Excellent if you’re communing by train. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it. "
