"Just be aware that not all rooms have A/C. This means you may have to leave your windows open at night, which in turn means you will hear every beep, honk and vroom from the street below your window. My wife suggests buying earplugs…conveniently found at the pharmacy next door. Breakfast is humble but delicious. The tortillas are handmade in front of you. Enjoy!"

"This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are large, very clean and had a fabulous view. It would have been a perfect stay except two doors down the guest staying in that room had karaoke so loud it could be heard not only in our room but in the hallway. We finally called the front desk at 11:30pm and were told that they could not hear it on the lobby but “ok”. The music stopped but started again at 5:45am! It got even louder when we were about to check out. This must have been a “special” guest to have these privileges. Also, we ate at the hotel restaurant. The first meal pizza was great but when we returned for breakfast the next morning, my husband got his meal and I waited an additional 20 minutes to get mine! We had the older lady for a waitress and we had to ASK her for more coffee and why the wait only to be told “well, they are poaching the eggs”. 🙄😒"

"My room had no hot water. I told reception within minutes of entering my room. They sent a repairman, who confirms that there's no hot water, but tells me to wait 30 minutes, because right now the washing machines were just running, and they used up all of the hot water. No problem. I waited an hour, still no hot water. Told reception. They send up the chubby young guy, who tells me that the water in my shower is "hot" ("caliente"). I told him this is barely room temperature, this is not what I expect for hot water. He and the repairman told me to wait another 30 minutes. An hour later, still nothing. I get in touch with the booking company, they call reception to initiate a cancellation. Reception says they have to wait for the manager to approve the cancellation (which is reasonable), but the receptionist keeps insisting that her colleague checked my water and that I have "hot" water. She at first refuses to check the water herself. But eventually she does, and she admits that the water is just "tepid" ("tibia") and that it's the same in another room that they checked. Her confirmation allowed the booking company to issue me a refund, freeing me to book elsewhere for the remainder of my Xalapa vacation. What was ugly about this situation is that he kept lying to his colleague, very rudely suggesting to her in Spanish that I'm unreasonable, that the water was "indeed hot" ("sí caliente"). This guy's lying stains the reputation of this hotel."

"Creo que el hotel debe mejorar mucho en la atencion al cliente, desde que llegamos al hotel el dia 29 de mayo a hacer la check-in no nos explicaron nada, solo nos dieron las llaves de la habitatio sin explicar nada, preguntamos si era possible hacer el check-out a las 3 pm porque en la web de Expidia nos autorizo 2 horas mas y nos dijeron que Expidia le da informacion erronea a los clientes y estaba en contra de las politicas del hotel, a tanto insistir de pedir el check-out tardio dijeron que si pero solo seria por 1 hora mas, es decir la salida a las 2pm del 31 de mayo y todavia nos escriben de recepcion a la 1:15 pm para que abandonaramos el hotel o si queriamos reservar una noche mas, demonstrando la falta de communication del personal del hotel y sus superiors, deben ser mas cuidadosos con eso. No recomiendo el hotel, creo que no se ajusta el servicio del personal ni la calidad del hotel para el precio que ofrecen por noche"

"I cannot say enough of this small jewel in Xalapa. Great boutique hotel . Great staff! Safe area to walk and exercise. Amazing food! Just one minor drawback is the pillows, a little bit too hard for my taste, but don’t forget to ask for a change. This is not a hotel for people with wheelchairs, since there is a lot of steps."
